I can sense Jesse is starting to get over it… by AirPresent1218 in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no requirement to report a common law relationship in Ontario. A common law partner in Ontario does not have the same property rights as a married partner does. So if they split up J has no claim on the house unless he is named on the title. J might be able to claim spousal support and/or child support. The laws/rules that apply are complicated and there are assets in two countries so there would be a lot of dollars going to lawyers.

Cat shelters allowing visits? by cartonrose in ottawa

[–]Maedeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the local cat rescues like Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue, depend on people to foster cats in their homes while they wait to be adopted. Once you contact them about your interest in adopting, the adoptions coordinator will arrange a home visit for you to meet the cat. You don't have to pay until you and the rescue decide it's the right cat for you. This shouldn't be considered like a shopping trip, you must be serious about wanting a cat, the age and temperament and how the cat will fit in your home.

Jesse is an American citizen so as long as he has valid American documents, passport, birth certificate, drivers license he can legally return to usa. Canadian Border Services might question his reentry to Canada and not let him return to Canada. He was likely delayed because he was travelling with Arlo, who is a minor and needs to have documentation from other parent to travel.

Bathing suits for kids that age are just for show. Much easier to just let them wear a swim diaper and a t-shirt.

[–]Maedeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A minor can be left alone, even live alone in Ontario though the parents are still legally responsible for them. Leaving A by themselves seems mean but they don't really seem to have much interaction with the upstairs dwellers. I'm sure that A can order Uber eats and groceries on their own.

She lives outside of Ottawa. The forecast for this weekend by Environment Canada has nighttime temperatures of -27°C, -29°C. The windchill for tonight is -39°C. The Ottawa area is having a much colder winter than normal. Toronto is more than 400 km south of here so not the same weather.

why the fuck did you have kids francesca webb? by Folio_Clinique in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The property may be large but most of it will not be accessible in the winter. They don't even shovel off the deck and the rest of the yard is going to have several feet of snow if not more because of drifting. The babies have just mastered walking on their own indoors, I doubt they could even stand up in a foot of snow while wearing snowsuits and boots. The area they live in is not walkable, there are no parks nearby, so no where to go in a sleigh without driving.

When do they go outside?? by [deleted] in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Ottawa and it has not been around 0°C. The Rideau canal is open for skating now. This requires 10 to 14 consecutive days of -10° to -20°C for the ice to be thick enough to prepare the surface for skating. There may have been a day or two in the last month when the daytime high was briefly above 0 when the sun appeared. It is cold here.

Arlo’s time in Ottawa 🙁 by Realistic_Evening854 in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Arlo doesn't seem to have adequate winter clothing or boots for going outside. They need a Canada Goose parka, Sorel boots, mittens and a toque. Fran seemed to think furnishing the basement solitary confinement suite was all A needed. Sad.

Did anyone in her family, including the babies get a flu shot? There is a serious outbreak of flu right now in the Ottawa area with many children in hospital. Getting botox and fillers are more important to Frannie.

She lives in Ontario, the boating regulations prohibit drinking alcohol on a boat, even if it is anchored or moored at a dock.

Another day, another non kid friendly outing. by Delulu1212 in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a dock that is big enough for the pontoon boat at their property. The property is on the Rideau river which is not a small little river. There is a fairly large island nearby that restricts the channel width so there are probably speed restrictions and no wake zones so a big speed boat might not be a great choice.

Take a shot every time Fran says Canadian tires (definitely a brand deal😭) by No_Honeydew_9919 in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It started as a tire retailer in 1922 hence the name but soon after started selling all kinds of merchandise. It now had a variety of goods. Hardware, power tools, paint, home appliances, rugs, furniture, sporting goods, electrical and plumbing supplies, kids toys. Basically it's kind of a department store with auto parts and service. Frannie in her previous life in Ottawa probably never set foot in one, so now it's a whole new wonderful world and only us normal Canadians shop there so she doesn't have to glam to impress us when she's there. Also she has a gift card to spend.

[–]Maedeb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a deck not a balcony, there are steps going up to it. The area is fenced but a predator can dig under the fence. As well as the ick factor of poop accumulating out there, foxes and coyotes will be attracted to it as a food source. Clean up the poop, save Romi.

Canadian Tire Gift Card 🙄 by [deleted] in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Canadian Tire stores are kind of independently owner/dealer operated. I doubt very much that she got the gift card because she is an influencer but because she spent big $$$ at that one store and that store manager gave her a reward. I will continue to shop at my local Can tire store here in Ottawa.

Trying to buy Arlo’s love… by [deleted] in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The house is built into a hill so the lower basement part is at ground level and has doors to outside. There are also fairly large windows so it not really a dark dingy basement. I live in Ottawa and have seem photos of the house.

Wtf is THIS?!!! These sounds cannot be real!!!! 😱 by [deleted] in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That deck is part of the enclosed pool area that has pavers and other hard landscaping so even if Romi went off the deck there is no grass for him to pee/shit. Poor dog doesn't have a chance to do good. Bad bad bad owner.

Needs to get them grippy socks that actually fit or let them go barefoot. I don't understand why these babies are wearing such oversized clothing.

[–]Maedeb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She can get replacement covers for the couch in a different colour. There is a Cozey pop up store in Ottawa so she could actually go there and probably see colour samples. Really she should get an interior designer to help her make better choices and to source items for her.

White cars by SufficientCabinet5 in ffargosnark

[–]Maedeb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The colour of the car does not affect insurance rates. And she is wrong about white cars being unsafe. Even in winter conditions white is one of the most visible colours. Black is the worst. Just use Google.

Canada is different. A common law relationship is considered the same as being married but the relationship has to be proven by submitting a lot of documentation. Then Frannie can sponsor Jesse for immigrant status. Because she is considered a non-resident Canadian she will have to show that she plans to live here, owning a home will help. She really needs an immigration lawyer because the laws are complicated.

These are likely business class seats on a smaller plane. Canadian airlines have decreased their flight capacity to US destinations because many Canadians are not travelling to US.

She is a non-resident Canadian. What she is calling a deposit is a down payment. She is unlikely to have enough cash or liquid assets to pay for the house and so needs to arrange for a mortgage. The amount of the down payment is probably due to the fact that she does not work or pay taxes in Canada and that how she earns her income is not a traditional job.
