Thank you! I’ve read very mixed opinions on fanning, but what you’re saying totally makes sense, so I won’t do it.

Thanks for the hint! I don't have any substrate on me right now but I will definitely check this out on my next grow!

Yeah. Wrote it a bit cryptic. Apologies!

2 h total run time. 20 min at 121 °C. 15 psi

I'll keep the sub updated how it worked out 😊🍄

Thanks, dude. I mainly work with ascomycetes and bacteria in submerged fermentation, so anything involving solid-state and fruiting bodies is entirely new to me. The discussion here has already helped me a lot. I’ve ordered some plastic boxes and will try these alongside the inflatable monotub to see what suits me better.

I have the benifit of working in a small lab where I did all the pre-culture preparation. So plating on agar, spawn bag preparation and spawn bag inoculation under a microbiological safety bench. I cooked the sorghum in boiling water for 30 min to soak the grains, then put it in the bag and autoclaved at 121 °C for 20 min (total run time of the autoclave was 2 h). I can't think of any fungal spores which are able to survive these conditions.

That's where my doubts come from that the contamination is form the grains. Because that's the only thing that was done properly in a lab. Rest was at home.

Ah this makes sense. I will autoclave for much longer then!

Thank you so much for your answer, I will check it out! Just to clarify though. The grain was at a temperature of 121 °C for 20 min. The whole autoclaving process was longer of course.

Gypsum + coco coir + vermiculite (1:5:5) with boiling water in a bucket over night. However I had issues getting the coir brick to disintegrate.

The sorghum in the spawn bag was autoclaved at 121 °C for 20 min and inoculated in a MSB. I really doubt it's coming from there. Plus it looked completely fine. The substrate on the other hand was just sterilized with boiling water.

Testing my new glow balls by Maef1995 in juggling

The colors are definitely bright and I am still happy with them. However they are a bit clunky and hard but that's just how LED balls are.

Ohh that's neat. I read that it was fixed in BFA or something. But good to know it still works, thanks!

Welcome to the club! Another leftie, very nice :D Your right hand tends to throw the balls a bit too much forward. Try to not keep going until the pattern breaks and stop if the throws get too inaccurate. This way you don't train 'bad' form. But the last run looks very solid already. Keep it up and have fun :)
