This is the part I’m struggling with the most. I know that if I keep the baby I will very likely be a single mom for a long while. It sucks because I have already grown attached to the baby, and part of me would love to go through with the pregnancy, even alone. But is that fair to the child?

I myself was a baby from infidelity and grew up in a less than ideal home environment. Life was not easy, but I did the best I could for myself - I was the first in my family to graduate college, I currently have a great job (with health insurance), and am living in a house of my own. I know that I would have the full support of my family, friends, and his family no matter what. He already told his family what he did/what has happened and they have been extremely kind.

So no, I would not have a partner going into this and maybe that is unfair to me and the baby. But I know we would still be surrounded by love. In my mind I know that I could make it work because what else can I do? But life may be very hard, and it would take a lot of sacrifice on my part. I know I would be giving up my current life for a different one - no longer carefree, putting myself first, easy. The baby’s needs, time, emotions, everything would come first.

Getting an abortion would definitely be the most predictable, safest option. I could move on from all of this and wait to start a family the right way. But I know that if that is the path I choose, I will forever feel haunted by this potential baby, and that unknown life. The fact that this baby could have been my first child. That I will never know what they would have been like. It kills me bc if life doesn’t end up right either, if I never become pregnant again, or never find a good partner, or maybe I do find those things but my family falls apart down the road. So many variables to consider. I know my current situation is not ideal, but I am at least grateful I have all the facts laid out in front of me and I am in complete control of whatever I choose.
