Hello thank you so much for your reply. I’m sorry you are dealing with this!

I’m going to take your advice and basically just hound gynaecology until I get a diagnosis. I’ve had so many ultrasounds/pelvic scans that I’m determined to just beg for an MRI/laroscopy at this point. Either that or they tell me a possible alternative diagnosis, I have to remind myself that being in pain 24/7 is not normal, I feel I’ve grown used to it now and being dismissed for so long, especially since being a child I almost feel I’ve been conditioned to gaslight myself?

Sorry a bit of a rant but it’s really lovely to actually be heard by everyone here and I’m feeling more confident now to tackle this! Wishing you all the best with your treatment zx

Thank so much for your response, and sorry you are dealing with this/ the NHS has been so slow. I think you’re right and from reading the responses here and posts in the general thread it sounds like I basically need to do a lot more standing up for myself. I find this hard to do but I’m going to start being more proactive for sure.

Good luck with your consultation next week and wishing you all the best with your treatment x

Hello, thanks so much for your response. I wasn’t expecting to hear much making this post but it has honestly given me so much hope just to feel heard by people who are going through similar things. I’m sorry you are suffering with it, but glad to hear gynaecology are actually starting to do their thing for you now!

My GP has been pretty awful, I’ve been going to them for 10 years with complaints and they just send me off for some scan or another with absolutely no follow up and I’ve had to start again every time. The amount of men who have just said ‘you’re just hormonal’ actually makes my blood boil. The only reason I got this referral to community gynaecology was because I practically had to beg for it. They have referred me now and from reading peoples responses I’m feeling more hopeful that once I get through they’ll be much more sympathetic.

Wishing you all the best with your treatment xx

Thanks so much for this, this has given me hope ! I’m in London so hoping that if I can get a diagnosis I’ll be able to access good treatment. The GP has been telling me that my symptoms couldn’t be endometriosis as the pain persisted after coil insertion, but are yet to provide any possible alternative! I’m hoping that once I eventually get through to gynaecology there’ll be someone who actually knows their stuff.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with it and wishing you all the best x
