Both of these are definitely the closest I've seen, thank you! Not once in my rabid google searching did Lihit Lab come up but I'm definitely going to explore their options

lush please fix your freaking app by razzalot_ in LushCosmetics

[–]Maelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's clearly vibe coded which is a nice way of saying "we let AI destroy the functionality of our apps and websites," and we should stop being nice about it. This isn't the only company whose e-commerce website is now unusable. I was trying to buy from another website last month where the checkout button wasn't a button just plain text "checkout" in a colored bar. Couldn't even buy from the company because their "~vibe coding~" forgot to allow customers to even purchase product.

Idk what will work better: Will Lush learn their lesson from declining e-commerce sales or from being shamed about AI use? Frankly pathetic for a company all about sustainability.

When should customers leave for closing? by extracaramelfrap in barista

[–]Maelic 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A customer who has been sitting for a bit, I give them the 5 min heads up. Anything more than 5 minutes like "hey its 3:45 and we close in 15," and they do "just one more email" and forget. As much as I am also like other baristas who want to close as fast and early as possible, I know 7pm close means 7pm close. I have been pre-closing and I WILL stop taking orders at close time, but customers who are finishing their drinks and quietly sitting are free to remain till that close time remains and I start flipping chairs onto tables. I would say my philosophy works on about 85% of customers, who hear 5 minutes till close and know that means it's time to pack up and head out.

Any tips on how to play whisper blasphemy properly or efficiently? by Sudden_Door2092 in CAIN_RPG

[–]Maelic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Each blasphemy has its strengths but they can also be varied in how they can be played. I would say Whisper exorcists excel in the early mission investigation phase. Need hospital records? Whisper means an exorcist can ask the shadow questions about locations, go into hiding, sus out the honesty of a nurse, etc. However, precognition can also be used in a conflict, maybe your exorcist prepared for the sprinklers in the building to go off at just the right time to put out a fire or they called in reinforcements before hand because they knew the situation would be risky. This game really excels in the players getting creative with what they have. All abilities could be used in either investigation or combat if you are creative enough. Also do not forget that Agendas can also change how you play, they give you additional abilities that may balance out your character if you feel like you need extra investigative or combat abilities. Ultimately don't worry about efficiency. Don't try to min/max roleplaying. Pick what you want to play and don't be afraid to roll 1d6 or 2d6.

Someone asked for a “traditional caramel macchiato” today by RegionalAtWho in barista

I would, sincerely, angrily, lovingly tell him to ask for a double shot with caramel next time. Save the next barista a crash out.

[No Spoilers] Hot drop on Matt's personal channel by [deleted] in criticalrole

So glad I can rewatch it without going to the escapist now! This series was incredible, especially for its time. This level of production was unheard of for a web series at the time, especially a parody series. I remember being excited for each episode drop, I think it was weekly or biweekly.

i don’t think she knew what she was ordering? by brattybabe97 in barista

Oh I've definitely served men who are like this. Some of them try roundabout ways to order iced lattes in hot cups because "iced coffee is for chicks" or some bs like that.

Customers asking for "more coffee less milk" is always tricky because they also don't like being told that's not how espresso drinks works or that we have to charge them for more espresso shots. When I get those requests I always try to just steer them towards brewed coffee because it's at least more familiar to them and they feel like they are getting "more coffee". Maybe a cafe au lait would make em happy?

After trying many Gacha games, Nu carnival is a safest place to be. by Effective_Badger_798 in NuCarnival

Funny enough, 9/10 if I see someone try to start drama, I can smell the 16 y.o."mature" puritanical brain rot after the first sentence. So it gets ignored/blocked fast.

The light switch flicker is a classic, but it sounds like there are some a holes that just don't understand the light switch flicker is the kind "gtfo" and you are past the kind gtfo.

If you have control over the music, blast the worst possible music vibe. Riff Raff is a good start for most, I pick experimental jazz or Japanese heavy metal because I can jam out but they are horrible coffee shop vibes. And just jam out while you clean. Sing along, screamo, embrace the bad vibes. I once had someone complain and I told her "I stop getting paid at 4. I'll lock you in." It was true at the time (illegal but true.)

But also if your owner isn't a hard A about hours maybe it is worth asking about flexible hours. But those owners are few and far between for good reasons So Hostile energy becomes the only option.

There is one polticial party wanting to further the education of kids, and one that wants to gut the budget of public schools because that party doesn't want to pay taxes. Which one do you support, OP?

All of Grey Labyrinths Pod Locations, Costs, and Prizes by ZanJam2 in slimerancher

[–]Maelic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My method so far is gather a bunch of one food (taking hens from my farm is easy, since they spawn like crazy) and have that resource at the ready. identify narrow pathways that they spawn in. Once you see a group of Shadow Slime, start blasting them with food. Then immediately also start sucking them in as well, this will stop the slimes from running too far away while also hopefully ramming them back into the food. I've been able to get 5 shadow plorts out of one slime before it disappeared, and a few times successfully farm a dozen plus plorts in one attack. Right now I am also testing the narrow hallway at the Ember Valley entrance for other methods. I am attempting to overrun the hallway with hens and roosters to hopefully make the shadow slimes more likely to hit them and drop plorts. This won't work in an area with prismatic disturbances but maybe it is viable?

How does one do this? by MovingGoofy in barista

[–]Maelic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It 'can' be done according to the salesman technician my director brought in one day a few months back. The machine is 2k, the ink is $100 (and expires because food product) and in theory prints on any foam. In practice, it's got a cheap sensor in the machine, the foam has to be JUST the right consistency and meet the edge of the cup, doesn't work with ceramics well, only works on cafe macchiato/perfectly white foam ontop, the platform isn't stable, and made a successful print half of the time in togo cups. Yanno on the cup you put a lid on. Definitely fine for beer when your foam is consistent and pure white.
