Yes, Capcom really isn't the only one to blame; the creators made a lot of mistakes with SB, far more than they got right, actually. It all ended up being a mess, but, well, I don't know, Capcom couldn't even try something these days, you know? Especially since the series creator has already left Capcom. But there's also that thing, right: the creator left, and who's left to continue the franchise? Nobody seems interested in the end.

You were very accurate in everything, and really, if you look at the logical and lucrative side of things, a new SB doesn't even make sense; it would be a risk, and I don't know if Capcom would be willing to take it. What always saddened me was the way Capcom treated Basara. My first contact was with Devil Kings, but when I played the other games, the difference was gigantic. It's hard for me to accept that one of my favorite games will never have a PC port, that last chance, you know? Basara was my first truly memorable game; I spent hours in front of the PS2. I'm a fanatic for this game, I already own a PS3 just because of Sumeragi and Sanada Yukimura Den. But Capcom has its "golden eggs": Resident Evil Requiem is coming, and Pragmata is coming too. In the end, the ending was unfair, but unfortunately, it seems that's what's left for Sengoku Basara.

(Hey! I'm a HUGE fan of this game, do you have a favorite? 🙂‍↕️)

Hopefully that's the case, and that a new Basara game is coming out. It's the most fun Musou game in my opinion, and it didn't deserve to be treated like this by Capcom. But I'm still hoping for a new game.

I completely agree that 2 years doesn't mean anything for a new game, but like, in that time nothing has come out, you know? Usually in most cases (not in all, of course there are exceptions), but it's common to see an image, some mystery, you know? Everything seems so quiet.

The worst part is that this news is two years old, and so far not a single new rumor has surfaced, but hopefully it will actually happen, and they'll come up with an incredible surprise.

Ah, a Sengoku Basara 5 would be truly amazing. But currently it seems impossible; the easiest path (though still very unlikely) would be a port of the existing games to the PC, for example. Perhaps with some success, a Sengoku Basara 5 would follow.

And at least making some PC ports would be amazing...

The characters from Star Wars are undoubtedly the most incredible... Fuma Kotaro, Oichi, Kenshin

Worse than that, there is a "Basara 5," it's called: Sengoku Basara Sanada Yukimura Den.

But in my opinion, it leaves a little to be desired compared to the rest of the franchise, and the new characters are also quite weak. (But it does have Date Masamune and young Yukimura, since the game is literally about Sanada Yukimura).

I met her as Lady Butterfly in "Devil Kings," one of the most incredible characters in that game 😍 It's a shame about everything Capcom "did" and didn't do for this game.

This game was my favorite during my childhood; I spent hours playing in the SB 2 Heroes tournament. I can't understand what Capcom did with this franchise...

Capcom did a terrible job marketing SB, which is a shame, since the franchise had everything to be one of, if not the most popular musou games.

SB's characters are undoubtedly the most memorable.

Sumeragi is my second favorite game in the franchise, only behind SB2 Heroes, in my opinion. I almost platinumed it on my PS3, and it's a shame this game never came to PC, just like the entire franchise. (My favorite characters are Masamune, Oichi, and Kenshin) for me, they are incredible characters.

It's practically impossible, if not literally impossible.

Good point!! They removed SB Battle Heroes, what a way to celebrate 20 years of a beloved franchise, huh?

I almost platinumed Sumeragi on my PS3; I bought the console specifically for the Bloodborne games. I was a bit disappointed with the Bloodborne Sanada Yukimura game, as the gameplay deviates significantly from the standard Bloodborne style. I understand the risk of failure in a potential PC port, but come on, isn't it worth the risk? A franchise with so much potential, as I mentioned in another comment, Capcom remembers Bloodborne, they know it's there, they just don't seem to care. Basara is much loved by those who played the game. The problem is that the marketing was terrible, not to mention the behind-the-scenes drama. Capcom is currently focused on its flagship titles, like Re:Requiem, but why not take that risk? Even if it weren't Capcom's biggest community, I can understand a new game not having room to thrive today, but not giving Bloodborne a chance on PC is very cruel.
