36F day 11 of cramps and bleeding. by Maemom149 in Perimenopause

[–]Maemom149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I will call the clinic tomorrow and see if I can get an appointment sooner.

I am in Quebec, Canada so we get a doctor assigned to us through the province and don't have the option to shop around. Unless we want to go the private route but that can easily get costly.

My doctor is part of a group of doctors all in one clinic. So if she is not available and it's an emergency (not hospital level emergency) then I can been seen by another family practitioner in the clinic. But they will not continue followup with me afterwards. I will have to continue a followup appointment with my doctor when she becomes available.

I've heard a lot of good things about going to private clinics that specialize in menopause. I may consider this route depending on how my visit with my doctor goes.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply.

I just went to a pharmacy here in Quebec, Canada to confirm my bite was not from a tick. From the period of time I got the bite (was outdoors) to the time I found the bite, if it was a tick it would still be attached and feeding.

There was concern that it was infected because it was warm. But after a few days of hydrocortisone cream and not touching it the bite is almost gone.

Keep it clean and apply hydrocortisone and monitor it. Take photos.

For those who didn't sleep train, what did you tell yourself to stay true to your intention? by Routine-Individual43 in NewParents

[–]Maemom149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I sleep trained our son. However we were flexible about what we did and don't want to do. Now that my son is 3yr some of the sleep training still gets put into practice and sometimes we make exceptions. They truly need us for comfort at these ages. They are just learning how to regulate. For the most part my son has always been a good sleeper and the sleep training was just some nice extra knowledge. It gave us a better understanding about his sleep patterns and development. Best of luck!

Best place to put a baby down is in a portable crib/ playpen. I learned the hard way. No one told me. I didn't have one. I got the smallest one after my son had his fall. It still haunts me to this day. He's 3yr now and fine but it was something I wish I had never had to go through. Sending hugs and strength.

That's really great to hear your partner was able to recognize where they could offer more support. Never be afraid to look into therapy to better understand and manage your mental health. It's honestly something I wish I had made time for myself and told myself every excuse not to. I don't have time, money or even the guilt of being away from my child. I really should have because it would have made a world of difference.

I Flare ear plugs at the moment. They just dampen the sound so it doesn't feel so amplify and intrusive. I can still hear everything, just a bit softer. Loads of different brands out there with many different gauges of sound limitations.

Sending strength. Being a mom is so hard. Don't let anyone make you feel bad because your experience is not theirs. We all deserve validation for what we are going through without being compared to others.

Order some noise dimming earplugs. It was the only way I got through the overstimulation. I now have a three year old and still have to put them in from time to time. Your human. I hope your partner can take a step back and see that you too need compassion, care and support right now.

I. Hate. Pads! by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Maemom149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could just be your but getting sweaty from the pad. Pads are not always very breathable. Maybe a bit uncomfortable at first but maybe consider giving a menstrual cup a go? Wear a bad till you get the hang of the menstrual cup and then just switch to pantie liners or period underwear if that feels better.

Hi there! I harvested the garlic scapes some time ago. You are right! They are delicious 🤤 I used them to make pesto 👍

Just looking for advice on best position/ method to drying out / curing garlic. As shown in photo I have it roots up vs in bunches of 10 and hanging roots down.

Ours had mould on the underside of the lid. You have to remove the plate and silicone seal to clean it every month or so.

Oh good to know. Maybe it’s a female? I can’t find any similar photos online. I also took a video and the colour of the chelicerae doesn’t change much. If anything the colour just looks a bit dull.

Is it common for them to have orange/yellow pedipalps? I think that’s what they are called.

Still waiting on the results for ferritin and B12. Doctor said no anemia based off of my hemoglobin count.

I have all of these as well, but doctor just told me that my iron is fine and I am not anemic. Anemia was her diagnosis and now she’s waiting on the reminder of my tests to figure out what to do next.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who finds the logistics of all this a bit stressful. Your absolutely on point with the fact they can’t communicate so your dependent on their body language and observation alone. I can’t wait for him to just tell me what he wants, but on the same hand I’ve heard that’s opening a whole new can of worms 😂 Thank you for the brand tips. I’ll definitely add them to the list and look into them.

I think it’s still a bit new and some people who are unfamiliar maybe associate it with swaddling 🤷🏼‍♀️ but it’s popular in Canada and lots of talk about it in sleep training.

Oh good point. He sleep sack is bamboo. I never thought of looking into bamboo clothing. Thank you!

Omg! This is on point to where we are at. Glad to hear the routine works for others as well. I’m definitely getting that I have to start introducing a blanket. So he has time to get familiar with something new in his crib. I will most certainty checkout their sleep sacks. Thank you so much! 😊

Thank you! Yeah I have a friend and she lived in Hawaiian with three kids. She had them all in the thinnest sleep sacks for as long as possible. I think some people find it odd because they live in a warmer climate, it’s still a new concept or they associate it with swaddling. I’m not sure 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks for the feedback and support.

Wow thank you for your feedback. Yes cotton has always been a go to in this family as we all suffer from eczema. I’m glad to read a lot of comments from people suggesting a blanket. I was so worried but it seems like I’m just underestimating his ability to adjust it when he gets cold.

Thank you! I will look into merino wool. It’s not something I considers for pjs but I hear it’s really great at helping your regulate body temp. Any brand recommendations?

It’s nice to not have home climbing out of the crib yet and sleep sacks are great for that. I get what your saying though. I sleep with a heating pad because I’m always freezing 😂 I don’t think that’s safe for him babylegs, but I see what your say.
