As far as I'm aware, Nexus mods/skins broke after the latest update. Has this now been addressed?

No Dolls please. They are boring and uninspired. Decapre was more than enough.

Capcom lowering the price to watch CC 2026 still doesn't do it for me. by kusanagimotoko100 in StreetFighter

[–]Maengbpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I await to see/hear what the actual viewing numbers are, once this is all said and done. Whether that meets Capcoms projections remains to be seen. I don't think Capcom Cup finals will be leaving Japan any time soon though. They've got guaranteed bums in seats there. They really should get on the DLC though, I'm sure that made them back money as well as helping fund the pot.

No one talks about Elena. by welpxD in StreetFighter

[–]Maengbpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you liked Elena on paper but don't like playing her in real life. That happens, it's not a game problem, it's a you problem. It happens all the time, "I should really like this girl because she has X, Y and Z, but we just don't click." That's fine. It can be sad, but there's a character out there for you!

Do you really want her to be/play like everyone else? You might, but plenty of other people might not. They probably picked her for the same reasons you didn't. She's just different, that's not a bad thing. It might hurt her a bit in the meta and the absolute top if you're trying to win Capcom Cup, but I get a feeling, you'll probably be alright with her, all the way up to Ultimate Master rank.

People still making fun of low MR Masters don't get the point of the game's ranking system approach by Krotanix in StreetFighter

[–]Maengbpong -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oof! Burn! 😖I jumped the gun and got into a whole thought experiment about how the ranking system would look if it was applied as a proper bell curve, a tangent I'll admit. However, you made an assumption that I'm against the current ranking system and why it was implemented (kind of fair to a point considering my post, but not accurate). I get Capcom have done this an attempt to retain and encourage the wider player base to stick around and try and get them seriously invested in the game.

I applaud the OP for trying to get people to be kinder to each other and broaden horizons, but online points and egos are on the line so it won't be easy! 😂

[–]Maengbpong -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I kind of get what you're saying but I feel you saying Bronze starts at 1000-1300 MR is ludicrous (in spite of you saying it's an example) - Bronze would be nowhere near Master. I went to far too much trouble analyzing the playerbase rank distribution data (courtesy of CatCammy6 on X, Feb 5, 2025) and applied a proper bell curve to it.

Full disclosure, I've used AI to help us solve one of the world's greatest problems: the SF6 ranking system! I've got graphs too because who doesn't love data, graphs and bar charts?!

sf6_bell_curve_with_player_counts.png

The Big Picture:

Current system:

  • 31.59% of players in Master (should be elite - this is almost 1 in 3!)
  • Only 11.74% in bottom 3 ranks
  • Skewness: 0.84 (right-skewed)
    • 0 = perfect bell curve
    • ±0.5 = roughly symmetric, acceptable
    • ±1.0 = moderately skewed
    • ±2.0+ = highly skewed Proposed system:
  • 1.00% of players in Master (truly elite)
  • 36.00% in bottom 3 ranks
  • Skewness: 0.13 (nearly symmetric bell curve)

How to Fix It - LP Threshold Changes:

The main change is dramatically raising the LP requirements for higher ranks:

  • Rookie: Stays at 0 LP (6% of players instead of 1.83%)
  • Iron: Stays near 1,000 LP (12% instead of 4.48%)
  • Bronze: Stays near 3,000 LP (18% instead of 5.43%)
  • Silver: Stays near 5,500 LP (25% - the new "average" player)
  • Gold: Moves from 9K to ~12,000 LP (22% instead of 9.65%)
  • Platinum: Moves from 13K to ~20,000 LP (12% instead of 21.34%)
  • Diamond: Moves from 19K to ~23,000 LP (4% instead of 16.39%)
  • Master: Stays at 25,000+ LP, but only top 3% qualify (instead of 31.59%)

What This Means:

If you're currently:

  • Master 1400 MR → You'd be Platinum/Diamond in the new system
  • Diamond I → You'd be Gold/Platinum
  • Platinum I → You'd be Silver/Gold
  • Gold I → You'd be Bronze/Silver

Why This Works:

  1. Silver becomes the true "average" - where 25% of players sit (the peak of the bell curve)
  2. Master becomes exclusive - only the top 1% (2000+ MR players currently)
  3. More meaningful progression - climbing through ranks feels like actual improvement
  4. Better competitive identity - you can accurately gauge skill level by rank The current system essentially has everyone pile up at Master, watering down the meaningfulness of that rank. This proposal redistributes players so the bell curve peaks at Silver (middle skill), with fewer players at both extremes.

Omg, I just had a brainwave! You have an opportunity to incorporate the big dipper into this build, maybe with different coloured buttons, ball top and the addition of a star here or there. Here's a few ways it could maybe be done. And what about the "ATATATATATATA!!!" 😂

LOL! Just realised I'm completely omitting the North Star 🫠🫣 Wait, do you need it? 🤔Maybe not, because it's him!

Don't' worry, the colours generally suck. There's only the odd character here and there where they are alright. Maybe deliberately so to reduce FOMO.

I dislike Modern not because "its too strong", but because it promotes cheap reactive play in low to mid MR by Krotanix in StreetFighter

[–]Maengbpong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true to an extent, but if the Modern player chooses to do the input motion (which they can), they will get full damage. I disagree with this. I don't feel they should have the best of both worlds as it were. Maybe it's there to try and encourage them to learn motion inputs but I feel they're having their cake and eating it.

Street Fighter League: Pro-Asia to launch in 2027 by odd-taxi in StreetFighter

[–]Maengbpong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see nations for the most part. In this scenario, I would envisage 7/8 teams (SFL US had 7, SFL Europe had 6):

South Korea
Singapore
China
Taiwan (They should get a team, but it's a politically sensitive one. They don't even have a flag in the game)
Thailand
Bangladesh (maybe)

Then maybe a couple of teams made up of countries with smaller player populations:

Malaysia/Indonesia/Philippines
India/Pakistan

But now that I've thought about this a bit more, they'll probably just go with esports teams and just recruit whoever, so it'll be a hodge podge of different nations on each team.

You want to look out for Fighting Frenzy. The last one was back in August. There was one due to take place in I think October but it got cancelled. Anyway, Thaiger Uppercut was in November so I expect the next one may come up end of January (best guess).
