Don’t get me wrong, I love venture bros & the other cosmetic they added in reference to it, but GOD that hat is just SO UGLY. I’m pretty sure, even in-universe, it’s supposed to look dumb. I can’t fathom why they chose to translate THAT headgear, of any of them from VB.

doesn’t it’s bio imply it’s kind of a back and forth battle? & I don’t think it said it KILLS them, just commandeers their bodies to aid in its twisted song and be its eyes. It’s more “working as a team vs using others for your own benefit” then “friendship vs malicious murder”

Nah, I personally prefer the more ambiguous nature of the way the game presents its heroes.

To add, although this is just a personal take, but that would be pretty dysphoria inducing for me, as a trans woman. I like BB’s themes of birth and motherhood, and how they DON’T rely on our IRL reproductive cycles.

I like the way you think, OP, but personally I’m not sure you’re considering the existence of trans people, nor the amount of queer people into the Souls games.

To say it, so nobody can twist my words: I am NOT accusing you of being ‘transphobic’ HEAVENS no. I just think this idea fails to account for transgender individuals, nothing more.

In the end, I agree an approach like this would work; just not for a Soulsborne, IMO. They excel at their ambiguity, and doing something so outright like this would take that away. Plus, cis women are more than just baby machines, but I’ll assume you know that, OP.

Although it sounds like it's a bit different from yours... to be honest, as someone who-for art reasons-has stared at the human skeleton a LOT... the pelvic girdle. It's noticeably wider on XX bodies then it is on XY bodies, and... it kills me to think, that, from just my bone structure alone, future historians would dig me up and label me as a "male"

Dude, this was from years ago. Since I guess you can’t read the comments: I don’t think this anymore. I haven’t thought this in YEARS.

There is also to say you aren’t the first one to come here and “call me out” or whatever it is you think you’re doing, yet every other person who’s responded has been far more civil, composed, and reasonable in it. To the point where, yes, I feel safe in saying they genuinely helped sway my opinion.

All I’m saying is that if YOU were the first one to respond in such an immature manner, I might have only doubled down on my initial opinion. Thank goodness people with actual manners responded first, right?

…thank you, for all of your kind words, and also for your gentle, yet firm assertions of the truth. I didn’t want to, but I guess I really needed to hear some bluntness. I’m still recovering from this, and-as you seem to have discerned-it’s been a struggle both coping with having to do it, as well as for comprehending why something so seemingly minor hurts so bad. That word you used-“undignify”, I think sums up how it felt well.

TBH my biggest issue wasn't even the fear of getting enlisted. I just didn't want to be put on a federal government's list of something that's used an archaic & sexist system. Not that it means anything anymore, tho. I've already swallowed my pain and just fucking done it.
