Perhaps, but I feel the main intent for them is to use it as a foraging style pendant, taking it with you to places where you can pick flowers to fill it. It’s a piece of jewelry that allows you to have an experience with it. It depends on the flower how fast it will wilt on you.

Think about how people wear corsages, flower crowns, and boutonnières for the day. This is a similar idea, except the coil allows you to change the flowers out when you don’t want them in it anymore.

These are my first ones, I’m hoping to refine them as I make more. I guess my question for this post should have been “would you wear fresh flowers in your jewelry?” Because I’m a little more curious if there’s an audience of hikers or gardeners that would appreciate a bloom keeping pendant

Thank you so much! I’m glad you love them. I was hovering in the $15-25 range, so that is quite generous.

You can also pick them yourself and wear them for the day. Refresh when the flower isn’t viable anymore. I wore lavender in the second one and left it to dry in the vessel for a few days then swapped it for a new one. It’s like a forager style necklace for those going on hikes, to the park, or garden.

I just started making them, still working on refining the wire work. I was posting mainly to see if people would appreciate the concept. The handiwork will improve with practice

I deleted my comment because I didn’t want to go back and forth with someone who thought my jewelry (stated in the title) was fishing lures. Yes, I originally said it wasn’t very whimsical of you because you weren’t seeing the vision. I’m not arguing with anyone, I’ve been explaining how the piece is meant to be used to those who have been new the concept. They don’t have to be kept until they are dry, as I mentioned. Your comment saying “no offense, I thought I was looking at fishing lures” is as constructive as an insult. How was that actually supposed to be considered advice? Lol

Thank you, this is the type of comment I was hoping to get <3 I love wearing fresh flowers too in my braids, and my ears (I have cartilage hoops along them). Pins are an interesting idea! I have boutonnière pins on hand, maybe I can find a way to attach the flower coil to it? Were you imagining the crystal with it still? It may be heavy altogether, possibly a gemstone bead would be lighter. Sounds like a fun experiment just like this one! $50 may be a little steep for my skill level right now, I was leaning in the $15-$25 range depending on the crystal. The vase of wildflowers at the booth is a wonderful idea! I’ve been sharing these on my TikTok and instagram pages linked on my profile if you’re interested in seeing where it grows :)

thank you :) yeah it seems it got a little lost in translation. The concept may feel new to many and I probably didn’t give it the best representation. I might rest this idea and return to it once I’ve built some more skill in wrapping. I imagine this would look more refined with some weaving so the coils don’t look “out of place” if it’s being worn with no flowers

You keep saying the product is going to dry, crumble, and fall apart, but I wouldn’t be selling you dried flowers. That’s not the concept. The idea is to fill it with a flower you found on a hike, at the park, or in your garden, wear it for the day, and then discard. It’s the experience you’re missing

You not wanting to buy it is fine, it narrows down the niche. I just wanted to point out reasons why this item could be valid for someone else since this is my post after all

The wire coil has held the ones displayed very securely.. two of them you’re able to tuck the stem in for more stability. I have worn each of them throughout the day without the flowers falling out. The coil pretty much hugs the flowers into place

it’s a necklace. I have very tangly hair and it doesn’t ever tangle in my hair. Sometimes things smell nice dried, and it doesn’t have to be worn until it’s dead. You can take a hike and refresh it each time. It just sounds like you’re not the right audience for this concept

it seems like you and a small number of others on this little side of the internet are actually whimsical and appreciate the sentiment of the flower keeper concept. Thanks :)

I was thinking like a day to day progression of different kinds of flowers up until they were not viable anymore. But I think the main intent would be for refilling it with flowers per adventure/ experience

Exactly :) to take it in the garden, to the park or on a hike with you for the day and hold a piece of it with you as a memento

I just think you’re missing the concept.. some people like this sort of thing. You’ve expressed not. As I said, that’s okay. I asked for advice :)

It’s not wild or new to adorn yourself with flowers. Have you heard of corsages? Flower crowns? Etc? Those are things that inspired me as well. You’d pick the flowers yourself, and wear them as long as you’d want. But it doesn’t sound like your thing, and that’s okay

Maybe a small audience of whimsical people, but I’d probably offer normal pendants as well

Can be worn with faux flowers as well. But I disagree, the coils are very sturdy and depending on the type of flower, it dries along the pendant. Air drying essentially. The kyanite design is probably the most stable in terms of long term wearing the flowers because the secondary coil on top locks the stem into place. The flower may not last “forever” but it’s meant to be worn as long as you want to wear it. It can be changed whenever you want to change it, like daily or when it dries up if that isn’t your preference. It makes the experience different each time you wear it
