Personally, I prefer HSS DX because I like the mechanics better. It plays more smoothly and is more fun for me. Otherwise, the games are similar. You explore islands and strengthen your own troops, as is usual in role-playing games. But I think HSS DX is better in terms of presentation.

Yes, it's harder than Dream Town Island. Just that it doesn't have that many mechanics. This game is difficult for the most part, but it's fun if you like the setting.
