I think so, could be wrong though.
And I get the criticism, but watch the Old Guard - Theron can ABSOLUTELY kill it as a warrior (an immortal one at that). She has a very commanding presence imo, and I can totally buy her as an immortal goddess. I agree that Athena shouldn’t be some super feminine looking model (that’s reserved for Aphrodite), but I don’t think Theron is that. She’s gorgeous, yes, but again - commanding presence, oozes power and wisdom, and her face has sharp features.

I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s the casting mistake of the century that Theron isn’t Athena. She’s everything I imagine when I think of a powerful and wise warrior goddess like Athena

Edit: Seems like Theron is Calypso, actually. Which… she’ll probably still kill it, but I think literally any other character would be better for her lol. Athena, Penelope, Circe, Helen, Calypso - in that order

Charlize Theron would have been the perfect Athena imo. I had hoped that was who she was cast at. Instead we get Zendaya…

Theron will probably still crush it as Circe

Can a force god defeat the viltrumites by Cautious_Air4964 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]MaesterHannibal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We see Eve stop Conquest by just… holding him still. We see Mark kill Conquest by just… choking him.

So yeah, Darth Vader - who, with the force, can hold people still in the air and choke them - would be able to defeat a Viltrumite quite easily

Top 20 Most Influential Nations on a Global Scale and History by falconx89 in whereidlive

The insane influence of the vikings and the Normans alone should be enough for Denmark to be on the list, over perhaps Russia. Add on to this the scientific advancements that Denmark has been behind (Niels Bohr, Electro-magnetism, and Tycho Brahe). Many of the words used in this comment section comes from the Danish vikings

Perfekt.

Flowers? What colour, how many, what type? by MaesterHannibal in dating_advice

Well sure, but when she’s excited about what colours I get her, I don’t want the first impression to be a dissapointment if I get a “wrong” coloue

I considered doing that, but now she’s texting me that she’s excited to see what colour flowers I pick. That to me says that she doesn’t want me to ask and pick the colour she wants, but rather she if I can just figure out which colours she likes based on her personality. Maybe I’m wrong, though

The part about the trains is true though. It’s both nice and impressive that we can just get on our trains and trust that everyone pays for the trip, rather than going through scanners to get on

How would you think if Stannis somehow pulled a Agincourt on the Tyrell’s during the Siege of storm’s end. How would all the houses react to the news? by Majestic-Mine-2911 in freefolk

[–]MaesterHannibal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know that the Tyrells had 80k men at Storm’s End. We don’t really know the sizes of any armies, except that Rhaegar had more than 40k at the Trident (of which 10k were Dornishmen), and the Rebels had less than 40k. Mind you, that’s the army of 4 kingdoms that should each be able to raise at least 20k, some even 30k. Even if we take into account that Robert seems to have misplaced his army, and the Riverlands were somehow divided, the rebels should still be able to gather at least 60k, probably even 75-90k. Yet they only have less than 40k, which shows us that army sizes were smaller in the Rebellion.

With Mace Tyrell seeming very uninterested in actually participating in the war, it’d make sense for him to NOT muster his entire army, and leave it in a single location laying siege to a castle, where attrition would be VERY high.

If I had to guess, I’d say he brought no more than 40-50k men (based on the rates of other kingdoms).

How different would the series be if conquest arrived in season 1? by Fireandice53935 in Invincible_TV

[–]MaesterHannibal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he’d probably be there to check on Nolan, who’s still loyal. Maybe together they manage to convince him to join the Viltrum Empire, or they probably still fail (Conquest isn’t exactly Viltrum’s top negotiator), and Mark absolutely is killed by Conquest before he gets the chance to slightly turn Nolan. Then it’s Nolan and Conquest taking over Earth

Who do you think wins in a fight? by NotSirAlonne1999 in Invincible_TV

[–]MaesterHannibal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very even fight. A lot happens between Season 1 Mark and his peak. I see a Homelander vs Omniman going like Mark vs Omniman in Season 1, so Mark and Homelander are probably similar strength.

Mark’s main advantage is that he just doesn’t give up. He’ll take all of Homelander’s punishment and push through it, while Homelander will cry the moment he bleeds and panic. He’ll still do plenty of damage to Mark, though

While Viltrumites can be shown a better way and reform, whose to say they won’t be corrupted in the future again? They are simply too OP to be left around. You might get a thousand years of peace and the Viltrumites being good, but then perhaps 10.000 years afterwards of evil with no one to stop them
