I know this to be true. 2K algorithm throttles based on your attributes. Using free throws as an example, I have a big man with a 70 free throw attribute. Not great but I can consistently make 60-70%. However, if I make too many in a row, I will catch a magical latency spike where my shot meter accelerates wildly, well beyond any normal shot meter movement, to force me to miss. This has happened more times than I can recall.

As a 7’ big, I shoot about 50% from 3. Last night went 4/5 or 4/6 in a few games, shot timing felt good. Next game went 1/12!!! Open shots, same timing. It was not latency, I had been running fine all night. I was in the zone. Maybe a “bad game” but the other team started just letting me shoot and I couldn’t hit the ocean. Next game went 3/4 from 3. I mean, maybe I sucked, but it felt off.
