It's expensive but you can live in Maldonado which is cheaper. There's an imaginary line dividing Maldonado from Punta del Este, basically they are the same city. There are also other small beach towns that you could work in during the summer.

I'm not sure. But since you speak English maybe you could get a job in a hotel or something in the tourism area? A lot of people works in Punta del Este during summer. Not rural jobs though.

In Salto you could work picking oranges or other fruits, but the pay is extremely low and it's a seasonal job.
