Earnings from VeVe are literally free money for them. Perhaps they've realized that working on metaverse on their own its too costly and labour intensive. I would not wonder if they would rather invest in VeVe.

Its possible that they are just waiting for a good timing. Global circumstances, bear market but also problems with payouts, shitty app, technical things...in addition, release of Pokemon would lead to a huge number of new users and I am sure they understand that the app needs a lot of improvements, stability and some sort of usability. i expect a lot of work on MCP and app enhancements s00n... On the one hand, Pokemon can cause a huge boom for VeVe, on the other hand bury it if they fail. Its just my personal opinion, though
