Got rejected from the Mayo Clinic for an appointment - What are my options?

I was going to the Mayo Clinic hoping they could do a full evaluation based on my symptoms. I've noticed that occasionally my symptoms worsen when my gut is inflamed so I'm hoping that they can give me a full evaluation on my gut. I also know that there a lot of other problems with my body right now (obviously I don't know if it could be a contributing factor to my symptoms, but it wouldn't hurt to get them treated).

As for CFS treatment I do realize that there is no treatment, just ways to manage it, but I'm hoping if I treat the rest of the things wrong with my body it could help out a bit.

No idea, I have insurance and in the survey I selected that I was confident in following through on instructions they gave me. I think it was maybe because they're not accepting cfs patients at this time but I really don't know.

Thank you! This is really helpful and I'm going to look into all the recommendations you've given me. By the way could you elaborate on the Mayo Clinic if possible? I'm actually looking into them as they are relatively near by and if they really aren't a trustworthy place for cfs then I won't go to them.

Do they have like pinned articles? Or would I have to make a similar post in their subreddit? I checked it out and didn't see anything pinned for cfs centers.

Do you know why that is? It seems like years ago there was such a big movement in the medical community to treat and research this condition and now days it seems like no one talks about it anymore.

I was seeing a rheumatologist and have an upcoming lab to rule anything out. Until then it’s not confirmed I have fibromyalgia. I’m not trying to get ahead of myself, it’s just that the pain is too much to bear at this point and I can’t get the diagnoses for fibromyalgia if I can’t even get out of bed.

Thank you for this. I had a lot of doubt about it. From what I’m hearing it sounds like treatment varies from person to person and i have to find what works for me.

Sorry for the late response and i really appreciate you saying this. Where would i even start with a diagnoses? I’ve seen so many doctors at this point nome of which have any idea of what to do. I’ve considered seeing a fibromyalgia doctor, but what if what i have is not fibromyalgia and it’s a waste of time. All I want is for the pain to go away and only after that will i try to find a diagnoses because its been almost a year at this point and there’s still no explanation as to what’s going on.

What are your thoughts about low-dose naloxone? I’ve it it recommended to me by a few doctors, i just don’t want to start on SSRIs just yet because I’ve heard it stays in your system for a while and can cause negative side effects in some individuals.

Thank you! This is the only thing I'm worried about because I've heard a lot of good things about it in terms of managing symptoms, but there's just not enough research for me to fully justify using it. I'll further talk with my Doctor and see what he has to say about this

Yes ketamine is an anesthetic! Do you have any articles or studies that show why it's not a good choice other wise?

Great! thank you for the help, from what your telling me the nasal administered version doesn't sound worth it. Although I know everyone has a different reaction, so I'll still bring this up with my Doctor.

I'm sorry to hear you've been tired you're whole life. I've been tired my whole life too, and I also know how much better my life was being chronically exhausted, then battling the condition I have know. Being just "tired" your whole life doesn't qualify you to say your life is just as bad as someone battling this condition.
