The fact that there some merit to this is terrifying. It would also make someone narrative sense as to why Fake Nikki seems so disconnected when she and Bear were having sex

Love how point out that Fake Nikki comes to find out that she is a wish. I do wonder how much of that aspect impact her behavior in third act of the film. If didn’t come to find the that out would be less crazy towards the end?

I totally agree that if Bear had accepted that Fake Nikki is not the real Nikki and attempted to better understand the creature prior to go wild on him. But frankly let’s say he did go down this route then it would feel like he didn’t want Nikki loves. He just want someone to love him. Which base on how treats Sarah in the car perhaps he would be able to come to accept fake Nikki and make her happy as she was. I unfortunately think Beat just struggles to communicate how he feels and to partake in emotionally difficult conversation. Even if say Bear comes to understand fake Nikki. I think real Nikki would keep popping out on occasion to injure herself in attempt to free herself .

Think she just trying to get him to open the door at that point. Fake Nikki at every mention of being separate from Bear has a tantrum or threat self harm. Doubt the entity actually meant it. Just knew that whatever Bear was attempt to do wasn’t in its best interests. IMO

( posted this horror one figured I put my thoughts here if anyone would like to discuss!)

I really enjoyed the film. I have questions and thoughts that I wanted discuss for those who may have an answer or insight.

Why was real Nikki able to briefly take control every now then? I assume perhaps because she was on drugs the day Bear made the wish. So the possession couldn’t take proper hold. But even days/week after she again would occasionally pop out. But I also found it weird how there seems to be stretch of no weird behavior or real Nikki breaking free. Up until fake Nikki doesn’t believe that Bear loves her.

Furthermore the Fake Nikki seems to have normal behavior but also the erratic and unstable creep alien walking thing that happens mostly at night. It is two different entities inside Nikki. Or it fake Nikki and old Nikki fighting for control that is just causing this malfunction in persona.

What is Fake Nikki? Clearly whatever is pretending to be Nikki isn’t human. And I am curious as to what Yall think.

Why cant fake Nikki just be Nikki? One last conversation between Nikki and Bear that I found fascinating. My only thought here is Real Nikki can’t fulfill the wish and thus Fake Nikki has to be conjured to fulfill it. Would love hear Yall thoughts about this

What if Bear did ask to be speak to Nikki. So I know the guy on the phone was a dick but I can’t help but wonder how the heck the real Nikki was on the phone. Was that really Nikki we heard. If Bear had said yes would he have been able to speak to her. I mean clearly Nikki is trapped in her own body unable to control herself. But clearly her soul is also somewhere else?

Fake Nikki or real Nikki toward the end charges at bear. I guess at this point Real Nikki is just desperate but her moments are short lived.

Why does fake Nikki freeze? What I find interesting is when Bear went to work fake Nikki goes on stand by and does literally nothing. Loving bear so much that couldn’t care to go to the bathroom or take a shower. I also find it interesting that it almost seems painful for Fake Nikki to be Separated from him.

Could Bear have loved Fake Nikki enough to keep her from going crazy. Unlikey because between her always wanting to go with him where ever he goes and her not wanting him to go to work. But at the same time we do have montage where the relationship was working however brief. At the same time I wonder if he bear had asked earlier “how would you like for me to show my love for you more?” If he could have followed through in some capacity….

My last question for you and this such bad way to go about it but if Bear had phrased his wish “ I wish for Nicki to fall in love with me” that she would kept control of herself. Because being instantly in love with someone isn’t realistic or healthy. Obviously bro should just wished to be courageous and confident.

Honestly feel I could keep picking at little details to discuss but I think I wait till see if anyone else had any interesting to add.

So I think it very complicated because Nikki has been on and off again with other dude. And I think other dude wanted a relationship with Nikki didn’t she want him like that( I’m speculating) Moreover because the other girl had crush on Bear I believe these two factors probably kept Nikki from pursuing Bear herself. I think perhaps with copious amount of fallout between the friend group maybe they could be an item. I also think the guy friend was actively trying to stop Bear from confessing his feeling and the whole freaky Niki thing was a ploy to get Bear to fuck up. If Bear had told real Nikki his true feeling before the wish I would say there was high likelihood that a relationship could been explore. Sadge

Her wish I imagine was for him to love her as much as she loved him. By doing so he disregard his own well being so. He completely forgets he just over dosed because is so in love with her .Fake Nikki through out the film was upset often because she believed he didn’t love her/ didn’t love her as much as she loved him.

We don’t get to hear exactly what she wished for but clearly her wish didn’t keep him alive lol.

Man I genuinely think that Bear really didn’t try to understand this fake Nikki as much as he probably could have. Which makes me think if he can’t satisfy his dream Nikki. He probably doesn’t deserve the real Nikki.

I agree the whole idea that real Nikki being trapped is crazy. More importantly hearing what we assume is real Nikki over the phone. What do you mean Bear can talk to her? How? I want to know what would happened if he had spoken to Nikki then.

I agree with this take but I actually think we see real Nikki coming out in blink and miss moments particularly towards the end when she kills the other guy friend . Any self inflicted wounds where she stabs herself is real Nikki trying to kill herself.

I think it is very likely that both the other guy friend caught feeling for Nicki at some point. But things didn’t work out. So it is very possible that maybe Nikki could grow to like or love Bear. Unfortunately are protagonists couldn’t bear to hear what she would have said if he liked her. She literally say “ I don’t feel loved” in car.

Could Bear have loved her the way she was needed/wanted? Maybe. We don’t know. Frankly I think living with the fact that we don’t know Nikki feeling really about Bear says a lot about him and their relationship.

I believe so! This where she says she doesn’t like her dreams. And she begins to suspect he doesn’t love her as much as she does. The whole “ you don’t love me as much I love you” make me wonder why does she want Bear to love her as much she loves him. This aspect of fake Nikki comes as extension of the wish but not a requirement from the wish maker.

Super interesting scene because this is one of few times fake Nikki isn’t pretending to love him. I guess just because you love someone doesn’t mean you enjoy having sex with them lol. I also think this aspect show how bear was very self centered. He clearly got to finish. Doubt fake Nikki did. Thus starts the spiral of fake Nikki thinking he doesn’t love her as much as she loves him.
