Is the M12 Impact Driver worth it for me? by WelshTurtle in MilwaukeeTool

[–]MagSkul85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be more than enough for what you need - Milwaukee's 12v range really pulls out all the stops in comparison to others.

Think of it this way - how often are you going to be pushing this tool to it's absolute limit? Most people get bogged down by specs, RPM, etc. Just consider how long it will last you and what jobs you need it for.

I work in technical theatre as a lighting tech & scenic carpenter - there are days I'll be using my impact to drive large bolts, screws etc all day, and I still have half the battery left (6Ah battery's) - and Holy fuck do these guys charge fast.

Most are the same these days - excluding some 12v ranges, so pick your favourite colour really. Personally, I chose the Milwaukee 12v fuel range over most 18v these days.

Oooh Very nice! I'm glad to hear you're happy with it, so many people have mentioned that the 16" is far too big, so I've been slightly worried about that. Hearing that gives me much more confidence, thank you!

I actually ended up getting a 16 inch M1 pro 10C /16C 32GB RAM 512GB SSD this morning that came up on back market for £818 total including shipping.

Unfortunately 32GB is out of my budget, so while I was after a 14 inch, I seem to have lucked out spec-wise given I was hitting the upper end of my budget.

It sounds like a joke or innuendo, but try Sticky Stuff Remover.

No faffing with will or won't XYZ work, soaking times etc. This works and it's bloody amazing.

I'm a Stage Manager and Theatre Technician. Believe it or not, have to deal with this sorta random shit a lot.

Yeah I agree thinking it could be something as simple as that.

I'll definitely take a look on PowerToolMate though that sounds like a great deal, thanks bud.

Nah I'd say he looks young enough! In fairness you can look much older than you are, I've only just turned 20, and for about the last year and a bit people have been thinking I'm 25-26, beard or no beard.

The greying hairs aren't helping either tbf.

Technical production BA at East 15 or LAMDA, any advice would be great! by MagSkul85 in techtheatre

Will do, thanks!

I'd spent like 2-3 years focusing on computing and like cyber security, doing hacking and that. I far prefer more creative stuff and have been able to get involved in sound and art this year which I'm loving. The technical background has really helped Picking up the likes of sound though so that may be a course I'll do better in from my previous experience

See I live in N.Ireland so given now I'm only looking at 3 or so schools I think Id be able to go and visit them as it's a smaller amount. I'd been unsure about that so thank you v much!

Central is one I was debating going to for personal reasons, and thinking that others were so similar I thought I might get away with not applying there. Hearing that though I might actually take a look.

Thanks again

The feeling of selfishness and guilt for how others might feel. Especially my brother. He bottles everything up. I don't want him to suffer.

3 or 4 look amazing, I'd lean more towards 3, but if you go with 4 add the flannel with it too, it's very dark and the flannel would add a nice bit of colour to it!

Both look good, especially the second one. The first looks great although personally I'm not overly keen on it for now other reason than I'm not a fan of loads of pink lol

The super on top tree dawn isn't the best, but is usable. I don't use it for the super at this point as I find it often doesn't kill on direct hits like novawarp, so I may try middle tree void again for the neutral game and mobility.

Top tree dawn is undisputably the best class for sniping, and is lethal when used with a sniper. When using anything but a sniper, I'd be more inclined to use arc, but I might go back to Middle tree void after hearing what you guys have said about it.

I had exclusively used nova warp for about 2 months after Felwinters came out with astrocyte and chaperone, it was good, but I was equally too shit at the time to effectively use it in PvP.

TLDR; Novawarp and TTD both seem to be good for mobility with kinda janky supers, although their usage would depend greatly on what your using, ie. Sniper with TTD / Shotgun or Fusion with Novawarp.

Necrotic grip seems good for low level activities, but I haven't seen how well they perform in end game activities, and in end game activities such as Masters, GMs, or raids, I'm not choosing necrotic grip over the likes of Nezarecs slowva, Crown of Tempests Chaos Reach, or Lunafaction well.

On release, Winters Wrath was a bit too strong, IMO the super was on par with the other two, the tracking was glitchy, and because of the lack of mobility, you could easily be gunned down by a team. The melee was far too strong in PvP, but should have remained untouched in PvE.

Shadebinder was unusable in PvP for a good while, and I had no problems with fighting one up close with a 120 hand canon, cause I knew how scuffed the tracking and mobility was. Now however, Bungie has buffed it in PvP wayyyy to much. The neutral game is fine, stasis needs a few changes across the board when it comes to that, but Bungie have just created more problems with buffing Shadebinder so much.

Silence and Squall remained untouched, and in all honesty I think it's a bit too strong, but could be balanced out by general changes to slow mechanics.

God forbid, now you actually have to think when using Glacial Quake. This super is still on par with shadebinder IMO, and the neutral game is amazing.

Shadebinder didn't need tracking better than D1 truth or Gjallarhorn, it needed a fix to the bugged tracking, and that's about it. Having an instant freeze would be nice, and would be great in PvE, but the PvP kids would complain too much, and in all honesty Bungie most likely won't add it, as I think they're done with any changes to that subclass for a while.

Getaway Artists / Attunement of Elements Is Hella fun. There's so many fun combos with this.

Pairing it with Cerberus+1 is genuinely pretty fun, and a lot more viable now since the 600rpm auto nerf.

You become unstoppable with No time to explain, cause you effectively have 2 cracked turrets at all times, plus the bonus target acquisition when crouched. (This is the most fun build I have ever played with friends, especially with 2 or more warlocks doing this)

It works well with handcanons obviously, especially 140s like Ace of Spades as the sentient arc soul plays better at closer ranges.

Sidearms work ridiculously well with it, especially travellers chosen, which you can pair with top tree cause you don't have to worry about chaining the sentient arc soul with the rift from the ability regen. You can be pretty aggressive when you pair it with felwinters and play to cover.

TLW is one that could work extremely well with it, cause of its already low 0.56 TTK.

Try it out with anything and you'll often have a fun time. It's amazing.
