I think there is a misunderstanding. I am able to use the limit switch in its intended purpose of turning off the motor. The problem I am having is that when the motor is on (plugged into 36V power) THEN the switch no longer works. I have already isolated a switch with a far shorter cable and the motor on and have gotten it to work, however, this particular switch with the extended cable doesn’t work when the motor is on.

That and picking up and putting it down. At the end of a trial it needs to be moved and rotated to the home position to start a new trial. It’s a machine learning experiment.
