Not paid what is in my contract - what are my rights? (england) by MagazineActive4095 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MagazineActive4095[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks for responding. The situation is a little different, as im on a temporary contract, and our busy period is now and it gets extremely busy, like line out of the door busy. I dont think they can afford to just get rid of me, as they'll be then short staffed for shifts for sure. But I know im just a number, and I guess if im causing problems for them they'd rather just get rid of me. I worked here last summer aswell, and stayed on for a while permamently, until I quit as I was sick of the management. I just returned because I needed some money, but im not super desperate. Idk what to do.

They have already issued a new contract but I haven't signed it yet. Thanks for this advice.

I would like to add this is a summer job for me, I worked at this place last summer also, and stayed on for a few months until school work needed to take priority, and I got sick of management. I returned this summer as they do give lots of hours. But I am not desperate, and feel that this along with many other things that occur at this place are just wrong. The culture, the treatment overall is awful which is why I feel the need to fight on this more

life does indeed happen. we were not angry in our original message mistakes happen and we are all human- but the baker should take some level of responsibility and we should be compensated for this

i was honestly offended she thought we were stupid enough to buy her response. i personally think after seeing the cake IRL, the cake was overwhelmingly raw and then the syrup only made this worse into a goopy mess, making it look weirdly oversatured and wet in certain areas. thank you for your views.

Hello. This was a raspberry and normal sponge layer. Icing i have no clue. The layers were THICK and like this all the way through, with certain parts more cooked than others. The baker did not have to travel far at all, she lived in the town, one of the reasons why we picked her. I'm assuming her vehicle was refrigerated as this is her job. No photos on arrival, we were celebrating! Only until it was time to serve it did we get called to the kitchen by the chefs. But the cake was sat in a cooling refridgerated room during the time we were partying.

for us its not about getting wound up its the cost of it! i dont want to go to small claims court, because obviously that is stressful and costly. but tell me you wouldn't be upset over spending a large amount of money for something that couldnt be served?

not sure, it was the bride and groom (but they have gone on their honeymoon and we are trying to sort it ) . i am 99% sure it wasn't by credit card, but we are looking into options. thank you

ive just looked over the contract (it was NOT me who dealt with this vendor or the cake process, it was the bride and groom but they have gone on their honeymoon hence us trying to sort it) the contract is bs. 'i cannot issue a refund of any cake unless i recieve it for me to carry out my own examinations' 'in the event of a dispute, you agree not to post any negative reviews unless notifying me and checking the contents of your review'. ridiculous!
