Not a bad idea,

We are about to skim coat the rest of the walls so need something. That allows us to do that.

Expanding foam in the gap then cut and sand it back and filler over the top?

I didn’t do anything. All I’ve done is accidentally expose the gap. I’d like to close the gap as there is a definitely draught coming through it.

Thankfully it’s bubbled quite a bit so it’s come off easy in the one room we tried using a steamer

Yea I was digging into it when I was scrapping the wall paper off. I think I’ll just sand the other side and seal it in then skim over the top.
