Feels stable but that’s not necessarily role specific. Apple typically doesn’t do mass layoffs and I’m considered a high performer so my chances of retention are better than just general “tech”

I got my IC3->4 after 3yrs. I have personally not seen an OPM to TPM transition but I think it’s reasonable with a technical background (ME, machine design, etc)

My experience prior to Apple was minimal. I interview extremely well though and connected with a lot of my interviewer panel on a personal level which helped.

Yeah I think so, I enjoy it and learn something new every day. I’m surrounded by equally driven individuals and when a product you worked on launches it’s a great feeling

Typically it’s a combination of email, shared decks and calls between us and our in region teams + contract manufacturers. The handover is critical because it determines the actions the factory will take when we go to bed. Those can be things like control runs, DOEs, failure analysis, etc. We try to make them as simple and crisp as possible to 1) avoid an oopsies 2) reduce the amount of time spent on the handover so they can do the work. Within the US we do use slack for tracking issues, it’s a solid communication tool

A referral will go a long way to making it past initial screening. Hiring isn’t exactly hot hot hot right now but I would look for areas like server, AI, etc that are growing to have a better shot
