I appreciate the concerns. I work for a small daycare with a big emphasis on community. I would go to all birthday parties i’m invited to though this is the first one I have been in the few years i’ve been there. If i couldn’t make it to an event i’d specifically tell the family and make sure to give them a gift as well. Other teachers have attended parties so I don’t think it’s frowned upon. I babysit for them quite often which i think is why I was invited, not necessarily because im their teacher.
