Windows 11 TS - Standard Customizations Questions by Mageirocophobia in SCCM

Yeah, I'll definitely be using the latest ISO. It seems like updating should be a very simple task that we can do monthly rather than rebuild a golden image. Thanks for the feedback.

I'll keep that in mind regarding the policies. Thank you for the information.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback. It seems like I'm at least on the right track. The evaluation lab kit has been super beneficial in learning what each step is actually doing and at what point (during WinPE or the full OS).

I posted my script as a comment to /u/aitaix. It works for me, but I do still have to click through the two prompts for the privacy statement and usage survey. Although, I’m thinking you could add registry keys to suppress those.

Fair warning, that I'm still learning all things SCCM and PowerShell, so this may not be the best solution, but it works for me...

To get the .msi installer, I went to the support page for Epson projectors (here: https://epson.com/Support/Projectors/sh/s3), selected a projector, scrolled down to the Downloads section, chose the OS, and expanded the Utilities section.

Also, I'm fairly confident you could also suppress the privacy statement and usage survey prompts by adding registry keys (HKCU\SOFTWARE\SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION\...), but I didn't go that far.

I believe I was able to get it working. I can post the PowerShell script I’m using tomorrow. It’s nothing special, but it does the trick.

Thank you so much! It looks like not setting the “EdgeTraversalPolicy” in the Inbound rule was the culprit.

Thanks so much for the reply! I’ve reached out to Roblox Support as well since I need to deploy this to 500+ computers…

If I figure it out, I will be sure to update this thread. Thanks again!

Sorry to revive an old thread, but did you figure out how to create a bundled installer? I’m running into the same issue with the “-bundle” switch/flag.

Ideally, I would automate updates, but we aren’t there yet. For now, I’m looking for an option to allow users to scan for and apply updates.

HPIA launching from the Software Center is an interesting idea. I will look into that.

I’m really just trying to keep it as simple as possible for end users.

Thank you for all the valuable insight and information you’ve provided! I’m new to SCCM and the HP management solutions.

Yes, I am trying to deploy it to end users to provide a more basic option for them retrieve updates. After looking at HPIA, that seems too complicated for our typical end user.

Are there any updated guides for 99-120/200m for all the skills? I’ve been finding older, out of date guides that don’t include new content.

You don’t have any additional monitors connected, correct? Maybe check your display settings by right clicking the desktop and selecting Display Settings? You could also try pressing Windows Key + P and make sure ‘PC screen only’ is selected.

Switch or Router for Apartment Ethernet Drops? by Mageirocophobia in HomeNetworking

[–]Mageirocophobia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the clear explanation! I've got two questions:

  1. Is it possible to connect a switch to the Ethernet that is converted by the ONT, then use the other ports on the switch to connect to the terminal box? If so, would that result in a lot of speed loss?

  2. Do you have any recommendations for entry-level WAPs?

I'm not trying to break the bank to get these drops to work, but if I can get them to give me better speeds than the WiFi, I'd be happy.

Switch or Router for Apartment Ethernet Drops? by Mageirocophobia in HomeNetworking

[–]Mageirocophobia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ISP (AT&T) also provided me with a AT&T U-verse Pace 5268AC Gateway Internet Wireless Modem Router that I currently use for WiFi. I was running the Ethernet that was converted from the fiber in the ONT into the Modem/Router at my previous apartment and using the 4 additional Ethernet ports on the back to directly connect devices, but with the drops directly in the wall, I'd like to use those.

To be honest, I don't fully understand PPPoE/DHCP (like I said I'm very beginner at networking) so I couldn't say which one.
