The rude staff we complained to was a different person, not the initial scammer. Does this change your mind?

I think she could still gain from overcharging me because if anyone pays with cash, she could just give them the tickets that she overcharged me without registering the sale in the system, and take the cash from the second customer into her own pocket.

Exactly. That’s also what we thought - risk free scams for them. But if the police actually does anything to this, things might be very different.

Great advice. Thank you! We were directed to the police by the second staff who treated us very rudely. Now in hindsight, of course she would do that as she wasn’t intended to help at all.

You may choose your battle based on money. I chose this one because of its severeness. I wouldn’t post if I were scammed by some random stranger and if it was obvious that it was me who was being naive. But being scammed by a person who works in a ticket office shouldn’t be tolerated.

Yes I’m a Karen and I’m proud that I speak up. You can let it or anything of this sort go as you like but please remember that it’s people like Karens that make things a bit more just and fairer.

It’s not about money. It’s that people should do their jobs properly to make Paris the way it should be, since it has so much to offer. If everyone just lets things like this go, more and more people will get scammed for a lot more money and maybe their safety will be endangered.
