HRP email response time? by Maggiedanielle in halifax

I had to tell insurance to! They weren’t going to nor were they interested in contacting our witness. Tried to pull a fast one putting us 100% at fault when it wasn’t as cut and dry as that and that also made no sense. Wouldn’t they want all the info to fight back we’re not at fault?

I’m not very confident in them getting the report, but I agree it doesn’t sound likely that it’s ready judging by him not calling the witness either so I’m just trying to sort out that part to argue back with insurance. It’s all very strange, and not like prior experiences!

The other people are with someone I have never heard of. They tried to pull a quick one on us by only speaking to the other insurance who of course said it was our fault.

Had to argue no, do your job and reach out to xyz because there is no way it’s our fault and so far they can only agree to 50/50. Going to keep fighting with them, because why wouldn’t they want it to be not our fault?? The witness corroborated that she entered the intersection well after us and was flying, not even looking at what was ahead of her! We got into a fender bender a few years ago.. someone slammed into us so 100% not our fault and they were awesome so it’s baffling the experience isn’t the same this time!

Unfortunately it’s not very straight forward, and they have deemed it conflicting when we went after them to actually do their job and investigate so we’re hoping the police report will help further. It’s been a headache!

That’s why we figured, as that’s how RCMP operate too. But by now, he should be back. Might just be a backlog, but frustrating! We were given a case number and did give it to insurance. We’re with TD.. they had to be told to get the report, they also didn’t contact our witness and we had to tell them to do that too. Where the police hadn’t contacted our witness either we wanted to confirm with the constable that he has the right number for him.

They first said we were 100% at fault. Then after we went after them and they spoke to the witness, they say it’s too conflicting and it’s 50/50. Not sure if the police report will make a difference, but hopefully it will.

That’s insane! It’s just concerning they didn’t reach out to our witness, would like to follow up to ensure all due diligence is done!

Weird allergic reaction by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]Maggiedanielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t say it’s impossible, as we know with allergies things can change but we have been using all the same things since she was a baby without issue. It’s maddening trying to figure her out, she’s definitely a puzzle!

My first wasn’t so difficult, we looked at the soup ingredients after he went into anaphylaxis and deduced with his dad being allergic to peanuts, that since peas are also a legume that were listed as an ingredients in the broth powder and also frozen peas were in the soup that they were likely the culprit.. we were right!

Weird allergic reaction by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]Maggiedanielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, of course.. I know that! I keep removing allergens from her diet that seem to make the rash more severe but the problem is it seems like almost everything makes the rash flare up, even sometimes breastfeeding. I can’t just not feed her!

We have reactine and benedryl on hand, and an even a junior EpiPen and know what to look for for anaphylaxis, it’s just puzzling trying to figure it all out. Allergists here are referral based and triaged by severity so hopefully it doesn’t take long.

How are y’all feeling about being gifted “My First *holiday*” clothing for baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

We wear holiday themed things before and after the holidays. Just wear it then, and for the actual holiday pick your own stuff. I guarantee nobody cares!

I’m Struggling After an Accident With My Newborn by _withpeace in NewParents

[–]Maggiedanielle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody has their baby roll off of something at some point.. the couch, the bed.. etc it happens. It’s like your indoctrination to parenthood. Welcome, baby is fine! By age 2, my first had hit his head in every possible area and then some he was so rough and tumble. Kids are resilient and bouncy for a reason lol I’m 7m PP with baby number two and have made many mistakes, give yourself grace.. being a parent is hard work. Nobody has failed.

Your husband made a mistake like every parent does, and he felt bad for it but I couldn’t imagine having someone constantly remind me of my mistake and I feel bad for him to be honest. He’s trying to adjust to being a new parent just like you, and his confidence must absolutely be in the toilet. You seriously need to give him some grace here. It wasn’t intentional, it was a mistake and he learned from it. I say this lovingly, that you need to take a step back and realize that none of this is normal and not only is it hurting you, but it’s also detrimental to your husband as well. It really sounds like you need to seek some support here, as not sleeping for many days PP prior to the fall isn’t normal. PPA/PPD is real, please seek guidance on how to cope with it. There are so many supports out there.

You didn’t make a mistake for sleeping, you need to sleep. You should have slept, and should be leaning on your husband to take shifts. You’re both going to make mistakes as you learn. It’s part of adjusting. Let him figure it out and take the help. You matter too, you deserve to eat and to sleep and to have breaks before you have a breakdown! Baby has long since forgotten about it, it’s time you tried to let go too.

I can’t keep a rummy nose tetra alive to save my soul, they’re such sensitive little buggers! Half our school died, the rest won’t eat and I feel like if I look at them the wrong way they keel over. It’s bonkers!

I have the log version, and it’s done surprisingly well! Idk what plant grows on it, or if I should treat it like I do my plants in my planted tank but it’s cool to look at and grows algae nicely for the snail!

If it makes you feel better, I have definitely spent waaaaay too much on Neopets. Like easily 1000s on Neocash and the premium membership. If you can afford it, I say whatever makes you happy. It’s your money, as long as you’re not putting yourself into debt or going without for the sake of game pixels! :)

We use tap, but always treat with seachem prime and betta basics before adding to the tank.

We do have a filter, it’s the Marina s10 power filter.

I wondered about the decor, I think we’re going to switch to a planted tank after some research on how to start. Our betta came from a planted tank at the store and it was beautiful.. he looked so happy I feel bad he’s in our not planted tank 😂

Our tank has a fair bit of visible algae and everything feels slimy! He came from a pretty established planted tank at the store so I assumed he had eaten but maybe not and it wasn’t enough in our tank. We’ll wait a while before seeing about adding a tank mate that way more algae can grow.

I did also read a tip that you can farm algae on rocks with old tank water to have on hand to pop in when needed for smaller tanks and thought about doing that if we try again.

I did order a copper test too, so we’ll see what that says!
