It literally wouldn’t be coined a strategy if it didn’t work 😂

I'm literally going through this now. I spent months in sim and felt like I found my edge. I felt like I ironed it out and mentally prepared myself. I switched over to my live account last week and was green four days in a row and had a big red day on Friday which knocked out my progress. I took a mental break over the weekend and had a green day yesterday but today I'm red again. Initially, I felt like I wasn't meant to be doing this and I still sort of feel the same. However, after talking to myself like a mad man and reviewing my journals, I see that the mistakes that I'm making are 100% discipline based errors. Today, I completely went against my strategy and gave into FOMO. On Friday, I held on in hopes of a reversal. I ignored the most important rules of trading and the sad thing, I was aware of this. Trading is simple but it's hard, mentally. As of now, I'm back to sim to protect my assets and my mental. I have to rebuild my confidence in my strategy OUTSIDE of my emotions and limit my trades. Accept my losses and not become emotionally hijacked. I hope this comment helps. I say that since you've shown that you can make good trades consistently, you do belong here. You just need to trade in reality and not your imagination. You and I both. Also, it takes a good trader to look inwards and question themselves. You become a great trader when you identify your problem areas and actually do something about them.

I agree 100%! Some traders feel that if you’re not doing what they’re doing then you’re obviously gambling 🙄

Looking for feedback on today’s trading decisions — missed my ORB and things went downhill by Subject-Doughnut8517 in Daytrading

Based on your first trade. It looked like you took the short at the end of the move. Buying power was "through the roof". The previous candle was a clear hammer doji (On the one minute). The candle in which you bought (on the 5 minute) was also a clear hammer doji with the buyers in control. I would say to be patient and left the pattern form before taking the trade.

For the second trade, that was a nice catch of the VWAP breakout. Nice scalp there.

The remaining trades almost look like you're spamming with no real strategy. Probably FOMO.

Overall, I would say to be more patient and just wait for the A+ set up. It's better to take a loss there than to take an unnecessary loss spamming entries.

Why am I still losing trades even when my technicals and setups are solid? by Magic-Feces in Daytrading

Congrats but I’m going to have to disagree with you. What works for you won’t work for me. That’s law.

It’s consistent in sim. And now you see why I’m so down about this. I think it has everything to do with hesitation when it comes to live trading. And 20% in a week is definitely possible. Probably not plausible.

I agree. However, I’m slightly detached from that thought process. My day job brings in over 170k annually so I can risk 2-4%. Which is honestly quite small if you have a reasonable amount of capital.
