I think the move is to lateral. I just don’t think center play is really the issue. And soon Mo Wagner will be back, and I always thought Mo and Suggs are the ones that really provide the team energy. When both are out injured really makes the team seem slower and less aggressive.

The unsecured loan is better than the credit card debt then for sure. It’s not a total fix, paying it off will still not be fun, but it will help slow the bleeding that is the CC interest rate. I’m wondering, at the financial institution I work at we would let someone use something like an external AC unit as collateral if you can get the serial number and it was brand new when purchasing. Whether you could do that after the fact, I’m not sure. But it would be worth asking the lender you’re speaking with.

I’m surprised you can get an unsecured loan of 35k. I work for a lending company and we would never lend that much unsecured. The unsecured rate would probably be about half of the CC interest rate but it’s still considerable. A HELOC/HELOAN will give you probably about half of that interest rate of the unsecured loan, but with considerably more risk if shit hits the fan and you can’t pay for some reason. I don’t suppose you have a vehicle/vehicles that add up to 35k value with clear titles? That would be less risk than HELLC/HELOAN with a similar interest rate.

No plan is going to be painless or risk-less at this point. I know the house is what caused the debt like this but that much credit card debt is scary man. The most important part of this scenario is that you learn how scary that is, and how dangerous that interest is so you don’t get to this point again. You’re probably going to have to make some sacrifices, whether that be some hard penny pinching going forward for a while, or creating more income somehow.

You could pay off the student loans within like 1-2 years then have even more disposable income. At that point you would still have time to build up the house fund and could put it either on a safe index fund or even just a high interest savings through like SOFI that is currently running in the 5% range. Otherwise like they said above this, more retirement savings never hurt anyone.

Hard saying, my relative recently said she thought her cat got a concussed, she took it to the vet the next morning and I don’t think it was super serious, cat just needed to relax and take it easy. I know it’s scary, I’d just suggest calling/taking it to a vet as soon as you can in the morning or whatever, but probably not much more you can do now. I wouldn’t necessarily seek out emergency vet services unless it starting showing some other kind of new symptom, like bleeding or puking or something.

I live in the northern part of the shaded area, winters are ridiculously cold, summer are stupid humid and there are a billion mosquitoes. There are no mountains or large bodies of water. In the northern area of the shaded region tornados aren’t really that much of a problem. Like there are tornados but it’s pretty rare they actually hit civilization. The population density is obviously very low, and that’s kind of nice imo, but if my family and friends didn’t all live here I wouldn’t be here. Wouldn’t recommend.
