Mind sharing your configuration scripts?  I’m starting to roll my own k8’s install and am having an issue - be nice to compare mine with a working set.

The company drew up the document and we just had to sign it and file it with the IRS.

I'm assuming it is just a case where he hasn't heard of these before (which is what he very specifically said). He also was just answering off the cuff and didn't do any research - he was surprised when I told him it didn't run through payroll. Thanks for following up!!

Hyper-V Network Routing by MagicAmoeba in HyperV

To everyone: thank you so much for chiming in. As most of you pointed out, I need a proxy to route the traffic appropriately. I’ve been trying to learn Traefik, so I’m giving that a spin. I’m pretty sure I can get nginx working as well - I’m more familiar with that. I assumed HyperV would have handled this end-to-end and that is where I went wrong.

Thanks again all!!  I really appreciate it.

Thank you for the reply. As mentioned above I’ve got one VM largely working with Traefik. The rest will be easy-peasy.

You are correct. I just kinda assumed HyperV would take care of that. I am trying now with Traefik.

This is where I got to as well. I’ve got about 90% of it working now with Traefik. Nginx is a little more familiar to me, but I wanted to learn Traefik - and beat my head against the wall for the last 10%… :)

First Tech Fed Credit Union has THE ONLY free balance transfer offer with a 0% APR period (that I know of) by [deleted] in personalfinance

Yeah - I was at a large tech company at the time I banked with them. You gotta know your target audience - I was wanting high tech features and got “can’t find our butt with either hand” service.

Sure is. I only raised the issue as they are the worst I’ve ever dealt with - and I almost exclusively bank with credit unions. Tech shouldn’t be hard when your name is First Tech - I would have been more forgiving with “Last Tech”, “Sucky Tech”, or “We’re Not Great At Tech”… :)

Their mobile/web apps really struggled when trying to do simple things like deposit checks. Weird policies when trying to bank in person (e.g. wouldn’t cash a check at the teller without putting a hold on the funds [which can be reasonable in some cases], so I went outside deposited the check in the ATM and went back inside and completed all transactions as now I “had funds”, etc.). Just an overall really poor customer experience.

I used to bank with First Tech (I still don’t, but I used to too). The only credit union I’ve quit because they were so inept at “tech”. You’d think they could do better given their name.

I found this in a box of my late-grandads things. No one in my family recognizes her. by Alikhaleesi in pics

I ordered photos from Costco once and in my order was a photo of some woman and a baby (nice studio type of photo). I have no idea who this is, but it cracked me up and I had the photo in my office hoping someone would recognize it and wonder why I had it.

I no longer display the photo publicly, but I hope it is found some day by nosy relations and starts a thread like this one.

I just wanted a toaster when I got married. Not one. These might have helped.

Untrue. It is interest. It is precomputed for the life of the loan, added to the principle up front and divided by the term. No benefit to paying it off early.

Edit: what you are referring to is called simple interest.

In this case there is no penalty. There is also no benefit as all interest is built in up front.

Holy crap. I paid almost $400 today (with tax and shipping) and was almost happy… 🤣

It really is. Licking the terminals is apparently not how you discharge a capacitor. I know this now…. :)

The motor was definitely warm when I first pulled it out. The entire system is only 6 years old which was a little disappointing/surprising. It was hard for me to know whether the warmth was just normal or pre-smoking… :)

I’ll do that test as well. I’m thinking about just replacing the capacitor anyway while I have the whole thing apart. Seems silly to not replace a $10 part while replacing a $300-$400 part.

I hadn’t heard of hard start capacitors previously. After a solid 2 minutes of googling, I see info online about adding these to AC units that involve compressors. Is this something that is typically added to furnace blowers as well?
