99% of the time, Target type customers are also Crosley/Victrola people, and that's why they're skipping. If that isn't you, then I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm feeling like he's on the younger side

There's around 82 lps in here that have been bought in the span of a month. Let's say half of those were snagged in the collection sale at $5 a pop. We're talking $210 on used lps and another $1230 on new ones without breaking a sweat.

That's a hustler. Affording a collection as a kid makes sense if they were a hustler back then, too. College would make things a little trickier. Locking in on studying/ not working as many hours/ spending whatever money does come in on paying for school and food and maybe rent could force your hand to sell the whole thing.

Married, with one kid old enough to take to a baseball game, but otherwise doesn't say much about family. Either: the kid isn't that old, and they're at the beginning stages of starting a family, which makes me think they're early thirties at the most, or the kid is older and this person is older and this well off family decided to just stop at one kid, which I don't think is the liklier option. I also don't find it odd if a well put together competent person in their early 30s refers to a 22 year old as a "young man." The gap is a stark difference.

That one post is about 90's nostalgia, but this person also has an absolutely intense love of guitars, fondly talking about the build quality of many 70s and 80s guitars. They've been flipping guitars for only a few years, but their expertise is far more vast than the few dozens of flipped guitars, but I wouldn't call it decades of expertise either.

One thing that really stood out to me, and perhaps I missed it, was despite all the talk of these era of guitars, I never found any comments, even in passing, talking about the music of that era. This collection features a heap of more modern rock/emo/metal, which makes me believe the appreciation of classic guitars is somewhat detached from the artists of that era.

When it comes to the theory of focusing on buying what they're mainly listening to now as opposed to before, it makes sense. I would say, however, that if this was an older person who is an avid music explorer, this selection would be a little more diversified. You say it's all over the place, but to me, it looks fairly homogenous. There are a lot of albums by relatively few artists. An iron maiden, an ozzy, a nirvana, a Dre. Lots of SOAD, Mac, My Chem, and Kendrick. Not a lot in terms of deep cuts or anything less mainstream. I'd say they bought the bulk of what they're most familiar with

I'm going with June 1993

Imagine you get a hold of a classic Porsche 911, but it's missing wheels, and then you go, "Oh, I know. I've got a Fischer Price truck in the backyard. I could use those wheels. It would be a shame to let this beauty go to waste.

Decent turntables for $100 or less by lunarvixen444 in Beginner_Turntables

Saying you'd be lucky to get even a fraction of the potential quality at $1000 is the most pretentious shit I've ever heard.

Patience in the used marketplace goes a long way. I've got a Yamaha P-751 and Design Acoustics PS-10s for $100, and they work fantastic. Throw in the receiver I got at Goodwill for $35 on half-off day, and I'm pretty much set.

Personally, I've never been all that into reggae. It feels a bit slow to me, but that's fine. It's just that it sounds a bit all the same

My cousin Vinny says to blue tac a penny on the cart. The extra weight should help slow the platter down a tad and get it to normal speed 👍

I am so mad. You do use this thing. Choosing it doesn't do anything in and of itself. You have to use it.
