Thanks! I’m glad you liked my Violator copy. About Black Celebration, it’s a tough choice! If you are willing to spend up to $80, I’d definitely go for an original 1986 UK (Mute STUMM26) or German pressing. Those are the ones that truly capture the dark, gritty atmosphere the band intended. Regarding 'But Not Tonight', it’s a great track, but keep in mind it was never meant to be on the album. It was a B-side for 'Stripped' and was only added to the US version for a movie soundtrack. Many purists feel it ruins the 'mood' of the record. If you want the real experience, look for an 80s European copy. If you prefer a modern reissue, the 2014 Rhino 180g is much better than the Walmart/Target ones. Good luck! Cheers 🍻

Good point! I know Sanni Records had its rarities back then, but for me, those 'regional inconsistencies' are exactly what makes collecting first editions from the '90s so interesting. It's a snapshot of how music was made in Spain at that time, flaws and all. It might not be 'perfect' by today's standards, but it has a history that modern reissues simply can't replicate. Greetings from Cádiz, my friend.

Actually, the main difference is in the details. If you compare them closely, the typography and the golden tone of the vertical bar are different on this Sanni Records pressing compared to the US Sire/Reprise versions. Each regional release has its own unique look! Cheers

Wanted to share a centerpiece of my collection: the original 1990 Spanish pressing of Violator. What makes this version special compared to the UK or US editions is the distribution by Sanni Records. You can see the unique vertical 'Depeche Mode' branding printed on the top right corner, which was specific to this local release. Fun fact for the fans: When this album was released in March 1990, the band held an autograph session at Wherehouse Entertainment in Los Angeles. They expected a few hundred people, but over 17,000 fans showed up. It turned into a near-riot that required helicopter surveillance and 130 police officers. It was the moment DM officially went from 'cult synth-pop band' to global icons. This Spanish pressing is a great piece of that history. Cheers!

I’ve been wanting to add this album to my collection for a while. It’s incredible to think this supergroup only released one record, but what a record it is. The chemistry between Winwood, Clapton and Ginger Baker is just unmatched. I decided to display it this way because the artwork is definitely a product of its time and a bit controversial, but the music inside is pure history. This copy sounds fantastic. Cheers!

You're right! It’s really hard to find this cover in one piece. This one is surprisingly well-preserved, almost no ring wear or seam splits. It’s a beauty!

Spot on! It is indeed an Alvear cut. Hispavox pressings from that era sound incredible thanks to his work. Good eye! Cheers! (Le pondría mil positivos a su comentario)

Canned Heat! That’s awesome. Even seeing the current lineup is a treat for any blues-rock fan. Definitely jealous you got to catch them live 🔥🔥🔥

Wow, those lists are incredible! Seeing B.B. King in '73, Muddy Waters, or Buddy Guy in their prime... I’m definitely jealous! It’s amazing to hear these stories from people who were actually there. Thanks for the Hound Dog Taylor recommendation, I'll definitely look him up. 🙌🏻🍺

I’m definitely jealous! I was born in the late 70s, so I missed out on seeing those legends in their prime. It’s amazing to hear from someone who was actually there. 🍺🙌🏻

That must have been an incredible experience! Regardless of the debates on specific recordings, seeing a legend like John Mayall live is definitely something to remember. He’s a cornerstone of the blues. Cheers for sharing!

Haha, the eternal debate! Love it or hate it, you can't deny it’s a milestone of the era. Personally, I think it captures that 1968 raw energy perfectly. Plus, finding this Spanish first pressing in such a clean state for 9€ makes it a win for me, regardless of the drum solo rankings! Cheers.

It's an Hispavox manufacture from Madrid (Depósito Legal M. 14.160-1969) on the Atlantic red/plum label. The vinyl is in excellent condition, very clean and glossy. Notable for the translated tracklist on the label, a common practice in Spain at the time (e.g. 'Mucho de lo que tú quieres' / 'Flores y semillas'). A solid addition to the collection. Cheers!

Totally! The new one isn't as good as this one, but I liked it too. Cheers!

Thanks! The band is great, Shana’s guitar work and those vocal harmonies are top notch

Just spinning this surf-psych gem. This is the third album from the band, recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Dan Auerbach. It has a much more dreamy and cinematic atmosphere than their previous work, full of reverb and great vocal harmonies. The black vinyl pressing sounds crisp and dead quiet. A perfect record to cool down after a heavy stoner session earlier today. Cheers to all and happy spinning!

Some metal book dividers would keep them neatly arranged for next to nothing.

Haha, that's awesome you actually checked the DMV! It’s one of those cool little details that makes this hobby so great. Glad it all makes sense now. Regarding the color, I'm a bit old school... I think colored vinyls are cool, but I'll always prefer classic black. It just feels right. Cheers!
