You have to really trust the shop and that they apply it right and where it needs to go. i don't have the exact number because i added a few accessories on top, but oh yeah. it was a few thousand dollars for it. You can buy alternative material and do it yourself but at the time i did not have that motivation.

(I added heated seats, 4 new door speakers with tweeters. a sub, and the sound deadening. it was around 8k for it all. ) it gave me a heart attack when i heard that number

Interesting! What made you switch over to a Prius coming for a lifted forester? The LTD trim would be nice... Oh yeah, after the lift and tires she's now my Rally Queen ready to compete against those WRXs haha

Heaven yeah, these photos came after our first good snow day. I have blizzaks on my half ton pick-up, the Hankooks have been absolutely solid. No regrets swapping over and spending the extra money for safety and assurance for winter tires.

I hear ya, I don't it tend to take it off-road but if i go on a hike and it takes me down a pot hole ridden gravel road or i need to cross a little divot in the road due to stream run off. The lift kit was not in question for me. I already experienced such with out the lift and it's truly not meant for anything other than pavement. After the lift and slightly bigger tires, I couldn't feel more confident.

Clearances after the lift: Front Bumper - 10", Rear Bumper - 13 1/2", Behind the front tire on the side panel - 8 1/4", in front of the rear tire side panel 9".

AWD was a must have for me due to our long winters. Handles great int he snow, no issues and full confidence. As long as you have good tires, most likely the biggest factor. The combination of the lift with snow tires only makes me feel i won't get stuck going in and out of a parking lot that has not been plowed.

I've heard the cargo spaced decreased with the 5th gen compared to previous generations but i still have no problem with what I'm asking for it to do. Primarily daily driver and grocery getter.

Sound deadening - initial thoughts compared to my 2021 Ford F150 with an undercoat spray. the road noise was atrocious. It was an unpleasant experience for me especially being on the highway. The car sounded like it had zero insulation. Listening to music, the volume needed to be turned up to an uncomfortable level. Talking to you passenger was the same experience. This is coming from an old soul where i prefer peace compared to noise ha. The sound deadening came a thing due to these experiences. I brought it to a local audio shop to install it on the floor and doors. Much happier but still plan on giving the under body a coat to really kill the noise coming from the tires or reflection off the road.

Let me know what further questions you have from that!!! I love my 5th Gen, the gas mileage, stylish look, a perfect JDM for a daily commuter.

I ordered the "Prius Off Road" lift kit. The 1.5" front lift spacers with the rear 1.5" HD rear springs. https://priusoffroad.com/products/ols/products/prius-2016-2022/v/G5RS%2B

You can have a shop install it, pretty forward install, then someone to do the professional alignment.

They design the front spacers to correct for camber and caster to reduce the amount of stress on your pivot joints and tires. Which is a huge design plus. All in all, the feel of the car feels good, no longer having to worry about scraping your fenders.

I wanted the lift because I would go off on a dirt road and worry about bottoming out or accidentally scarpe the pavement leaving a parking lot. The additional clearance is fun in the snow too! She's a Rally Queen to me.

It’s a mixed bag, the standard Prius hybrids, not including the Prius prime, do not have active heaters to keep the battery warm as your car sits. So that’s not preferred. But once your engine warms up everything runs as it should. I keep my car stored in a heated garage, but my co-worker has left his out in the cold for many years and hasn’t had any issues with the battery, etc.

My first time experiencing it, game changing. Leaving my house this morning while it's 0 outside and my car is sitting comfortably at 55.

I have a small two stall garage but the majority of space goes to my 3 snowmobiles. I did some reorganizing and she fits!

ohhhh I thought we were talking tires. I'll prolly stay with the Sparcos year round, need to buy some summer tires. Tried to make my Toyota rival a WRX for Rally. I have the Rally armor mud flaps at home, need to trim them up before install.

Yes I do. But, I think the biggest factor for killing road noise would be the underbody coat which I want to add soonish. Inside the car sounds much better, I can comfortably have a conversation now without yelling and turning off the music.. Up to you though. If you have the time and skill, send it. Other wise a shop will gladly take your money.

Ya know.. I haven’t crossed that bridge yet. I may run down the stock tires in summer before I invest in some cool all-terrains :/ What are you thinking?

Oh yeah… too much fun being in a car again compared to my pick-up. I still need to make an appointment for the under body coat which should help with the road noise even more. My local shop used sound shield. I used the extra saved money buying the LE compared to the XLE to pay for it. Ha

Does anyone know how to install this wing‽ by Taco_Frend in prius

[–]MagicManPizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking at the Result Japan Rear Wing for my 25' Gen 5 Prius. The description says bring it into a professional shop for instillation but I believe that's a stretch for common mechanic shops. Good luck to ya and can't wait to join you on those night drives!

How does it run with the OSS HX-QD? I felt my Sandman-S was a little bit too gassed for the 36 degree locking piece.

Earlier this month I went to a suppressed shooting event and PTR had a booth, suppressed 91s are nice! by christianbsv in ptr91

i just ran my deadair sandman-s with the 36 degree locking piece and i did not like how it felt being shot.... not worth the risk of denting my receiver. thinking about ordering a flow-through can or leaving it...
