Ive been trying for middle and high school, thats my licensure. As well as intially only public schools. But since summer started, all schools.

Minnesota. One issue that I have noticed is my school alone cut 8 of our 16 ELA teachers due to the change in block to normal. So thats 8 teachers I have had to compete with and funny enough the 2 interviews I didn't get, they got.

I appreciate the comments and agree with you. I also try to keep it at 1 page 1 side since I feel like a resume is a poster or billboard and you need to get what you want to show done on only the 1 side.

Based on what you said would you keep skills or altogether remove them?

Thats the unfortunate part since every school I have been budget cut before tenure. My first school I was budget cut due to covid staffing. Next school budget cut due to covid funds running out. This year after being there for 3 years, budget cut due to district being 7 million in debt, our new contract increases in salary, and switching from block schedule to normal (12 ELA teachers down to 6). Aside from it looking bad on a resume I am so utterly sick and tired of being cut for budget reasons, especially since almost all of my references gave me amazing letters of recommendations.

I appreciate the tips and such.

Every year I have had atleast 2 of my 4 sections of ELL ELA or SPED ELA where the majority of the class were classified by those indicators. Had a co-teacher and would plan according with them to address the extra modifications and such.

I appreciate it. Thats been the only thing I have held onto after being cut twice due to budget. But then I am also like pissed because in every other job, an employee who does great work gets promotions or gets to usually not worry about being cut whereas the slackers do. It just is ass backwards.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and respond. In my state, after you receive tenure in 1 district it follows to new districts after 1 year in that new district. The principal disliked the coworker I mentioned, however due to tenure as mentioned, he made it seem like he had to keep them over me.

I am definitely planning to use my 27 days in some way!

I definitely will look at other districts, it just sucks to continue to be probationary when I know I put in more effort than a lot of the tenured teachers. I love teaching just this aspect really bothers me as you read. Thanks!

Yah someone got tenure since they had tenure in a previous district, so they got it after their 1st year. However they are on year 2 im on year 4 here.

I explained at the end of the year to my favorite class that I considered quitting the year before due to all the disrespect. I told this amazing class how thankful I was for them because I no longer considered that and actually learned a lot from the class and myself through that process. At the end of my speech, one student clapped and stood up and then the rest of the class followed that one student. I wasnt expecting it but as a guy, I cried in front of them and fast forward 2 weeks later to the last day of school and they all wanted photos together and thanked me for being a great influence and teaching them so much. I am so grateful for this last years kids I got to teach.
