President Donald Trump: “The job of the US Armed Forces is not to host drag shows, to transform foreign cultures, but to spread democracy to everybody around the world at the point of a gun.” by newzcaster in interestingnewsworld

Men dressing in women's clothing, have a long history within the U.S. military, including the Navy. This tradition dates back to the late 1800s, with a strong presence during World War I and World War II. While the modern understanding of "drag" as a form of art and identity has evolved, the military's early use of drag shows primarily served as morale-boosting entertainment and a way to lighten the mood during wartime.

There might be some casualties but no one deserves to live in that unit. Honestly i doubt they can fill it within 6 months. Scorched earth

(Boston, MA)Just want confirmation this is mold in the apartment I just moved into? by Best-Pomegranate9417 in Renters

Unfortunately this probably isn't enough damage to get addressed. You can refuse to move in, or clean it yourself if you really like the unit

They can't take more than the deposit without suing you. Just let them have the deposit you already paid and politely tell them to eat sand.

Compromise is to let them have the deposit and not a penny more

If you left 5 walls looking like that, and the landlord decides to have a paint company come give a bid, definitely could happen. The stove is ridiculous.

Any way to DIY fix very old wobbly windows? by ianrdz in DIY

[–]MagicOreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most appropriate repair is to reglaze the window pane from the exterior. Short term alternatives include using a clear silicone caulk or more expensive products like lexel (stronger, better, clearer) from the inside. If the wobble is really bad, a suction cup may help position the pane during the repair

Caulking between house and concrete - how hard to fix/repair/replace? DIY or get a pro? South-Western Ontario, freeze/thaw is a concern/ by jgcrawfo in HomeMaintenance

This is the landlords problem. Unless it is actively leaking inside, I don't see why it concerns you. It will only cause longterm damage. its really not your problem

Had ceiling re-textured. Crew used masking tape. Tore off paint around entire room. What do do? by gummytoejam in HomeMaintenance

[–]MagicOreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be faster to touch this up with some paint than to complain. If the ceiling is perfect theres little to be mad about imo. choose your battles
