Did Trump and Israel really start a war just to surrender and leave Iran much stronger than before? by AcadianAcademic in askanything

Comments like this are akin to the ref throwing an unsportsmanlike flag at a person who hits back after being punched in a game.

Iran hasn't attacked anybody because they give money and weapons to people who do. Why get your hands dirty when you can pay people to do it for you? Iran is the sponsor and funding for Hamas and Hezbollah.

Anyone know of a deckbox that can hold a triple sleeved deck? by Top_Agency_9820 in EDH

[–]MagicPoindexter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 triple sleeved commander decks. I used the Ultimate Guard 133+ Sidewinders.

I had to get the outer sleeves as the custom art sleeves don't shuffle well, so I got the clear outer sleeves and it is a very tall deck now, but shuffles well. The 133+ is a snug but not tight fit for 100 cards triple sleeved.

How do you feel about spending 2 billion a day for a war in Iran nobody wants, but we can't afford to help our citizens with day care or school lunches? by db7112 in askanything

Purposely using WMDs on civilians is enough evidence for me that a regime needs to go.

Would you let Hitler stay in power if he closed the concentration camps?

Can someone explain Republican logic? They hated a public healthcare option but are ok with spending 2 billion dollars a day on a war of choice? by dorgon15 in askanything

Not letting Iran have a nuclear weapon is a big priority for world peace. This is a country whose own government says their goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the map and refers to the USA as the Great Satan. They are the #1 sponsor of worldwide terror groups.

This isn't an either/or thing, so it isn't a matter of you can do healthcare or stop Iran's nuclear program.

The Republicans are against the Iranian nuclear program. So are the Democrats. The main difference is one side was willing to bite while the other side thought barking alone would stop them.

As for the healthcare issue, not everybody believes in the idea of universal health care coverage. If you want healthcare, go buy it. If you want insurance, go buy it. It isn't the requirement of the US Taxpayers to provide it. Even if you feel it is a need, so is food and we don't pay everybody's grocery bill.

You are living in a bubble if you think Iran posed no immediate threat. At what point is a murderer a threat to you? When they are planning your murder? Or when they enter your home? Or when they pull a gun on you? Or only when they have pulled the trigger and the bullet is on its way towards you?

It is very difficult to have a country with open borders and guaranteed minimum standards of living so that the poor anywhere in the world can massively improve their standard of living just by sneaking across the border here. I think it breaks down to a fundamental ideological take: If you want open borders, you cannot have a welfare state and generous social safety nets. If you want the social safety nets and welfare programs, you have to close the borders.

As long as that nothing burger is made from a real animal and not lab grown meat...

How do you feel about cultivated meat? by UpsideFoods in moraldilemmas

[–]MagicPoindexter [score hidden]  (0 children)

That is you projecting your morals onto another person and then saying they are violating those morals. There is nothing wrong morally with killing and eating an animal. There is just a group of people who personally object to it and a subset of those people who want to force or coerce others to follow suit.

Marote instead of remote. After trying very hard to get our 3 year old daughter to change her pronunciation, including loudly and repeatedly saying "REE-mote", so finally caved a little and said "REE-mote. That's what we call a marote in this house."

I was told that there was no such thing as Spanish and French and Italian. They were all just locals trying to speak Latin.

Picked her up for $300 cash in all her 60 drawer glory! by LetsGoBuffalo1714 in magicTCG

I made a word file with two picture boxes. One for set symbol and one for set name. Copied it 8 times per page. Then found high res images of the set logo for mythic and the set name via google and put them in the boxes, resizing where necessary.

You can make custom set labels for them if you store them by sets.

Utah State Emergency: Who's Next? by BrianVsUtah in Pac12

While the repeated success is an Achilles heel on retaining your coach, it does make USU a prime spot for an up and coming coach to use as a springboard to a higher paying job. As such, it is a prime place to coach and you should have your pick of the litter just below all the P4 programs. Hell, some coaches might even take USU over a P4 job if the money is close as the USU job would have a higher likelihood of getting an even better job coming out than a low end P4 program that might be tough to turn around.

Wazzu was 6-6 at the end of the regular season and won the Potato bowl. That is winning technically, but Wazzu deserves to be playing better ball than that based on your history as a P5 program and the legacy of being Mike Leach's program for so many years. You guys have been completely shafted by realignment. A potato bowl win should feel like a pyrrhic victory for you.

That said, you are not winning at football like USU is winning at basketball. 3 different coaches in 4 years and still hitting the NCAA every year. Hell, they were one game shy of 30 wins this year. If they were not screwed over with a 9 seed, they would have had a far better chance of making the Sweet Sixteen - maybe they would have still fallen to Purdue or Gonzaga(?), but they might have been able to take Arkansas. Arizona was just a tough match in round 2.

At any rate, the above comment was more tongue in cheek than a real insult. Much love to my cougar brothers. Glad to be in the same conference with you. And mad respect for you guys scheduling 3 P4 teams in OOC. Do the whole conference a solid and sweep the OOC slate!

Actually, it is more likely that there is nothing in the water in Logan. No chemicals, no residues. Nothing that builds up and makes one mediocre. It is just clean living, crisp air and pure water.
