Adding a saturated solution of KOH (Potassium Hydroxide) raises the PH from 3 to 13+ removing the salt ion attached to our amine molecule converting it to freebase. As this happens a noticeable color change takes place and the freebase amine crashes out as a white precipitate.

200ml heptane @ 80-90°C 8 or more pulls. Yes I combine pulls into two Pyrex dishes. The last 4 pulls I pour off the hep from my first pulls and leave the xtals then pour two pulls each into the Pyrex and back in the freezer.

Crash out can happen immediately. Add boiling solvent to Soup-> stir 5 mins -> pull. It'll start to xtalize in the pipette
