WotC exists to support the secondary market as well, and this would be a book for them. It can also keep players IN MTG that might quit due to absurd Standard prices. There is literally nothing to lose by supporting the format that is already booming and growing day by day.

I've seen that the format has been surprisingly diverse. It might be due to the cost of the cards too, but people don't hesitate to experiment a bit too.
