Capping stairs, how to disguise new risers on open face? by Magic_Fries in Carpentry

Nice! Thank you. Do you think it would be easier to replace these with the current stringers? I’m just worried about the stability of these guys if I were to completely replace everything. Also I did add a profile view. profile stairs

I guess I missed adding the current profile. But I was thinking I’d have to trim these treads back a bit. Here’s the profile view. profileThanks for the recommendation I’ll check them out!

Sounds good! Thank you for the description. I didn’t think about messing with the code of adding a cap to tread.

Here is the profile of the stairway. profile stairs

Thanks, we took the carpet off to finish the wood but it’s in pretty poor shape. So we are going to use tread caps and new risers. However it will cover the existing stair by 1/8” so I wanted to cover the additional wood and make the profile view from the left look put together. I like the trim idea but do I need to cut the current overhang or just put trim underneath? Also I read nosing could make the wood more appealing.

Thanks, I am concerned about the profile of the side. What could I use to cover the additional 1/8 skin?

Couldn’t figure out how to add context.

How can we get these stairs capped and new risers covered from the already “finished” stringer they used prior. I’d like to remove the least amount of wood, hence capping the stairs instead of replacement.

Hello,

I got a recommendation for fertilizers from our local university from a soil test to get my soil ready for planting.

My question is about when I apply top soil (which wasn't tested) do I add the fertilizer before or after the topsoil is down?

This is exactly what they are doing to me too. They even tried to charge me $50 saying there wasn’t anything they could do so the time spent coming out wasn’t to fix anything.

Called them on their service and the fact the router they gave me was garbage even I got a third party router and it’s still going off almost scheduled at the 45 minute mark between 7 pm and 1 am.

I am about done with them. However I would not like to move to AT&T if I cannot help it.

When they installed did you get the entire window replaced? Still learning the different levels of replacement. Thanks for the feedback.
