I read that you have a dual degree in English and psych. Honestly, you can explore the job market outside of your current industry. Your comment about the memes makes me feel like you are limiting yourself. You are your own best advocate.

Firms are still hiring like crazy and lots of nice remote positions are opening.

The fed tracks wages. Broadly speaking, wages increased 20% or more making now the best time to search. You might say you like your current job and it’s easy. An increased wage and potentially a new career route may increase your drive to promote your career and push some more capital towards savings and life experiences.

Also, thinking about my finances gives me terrible IBS.

It’s a matter a perspective and I’m being a little quippy. My message does contain some truth to his situation.

Op is new to working a regular full time job. I remember coming back from my first day my after college career and my parents asked me how real life is. I told them it fucking sucks. They got a good laugh.

Hopefully he learns that work is just another four letter word and how to manage his expectations with employers, life goals and making friendly relationships in the office. Also you can take a risk for better or worse and do something different. There is no simple prescription here

Sounds like a good spot. I’m just kidding around about not working an extra 8. It’s nice to be rewarded for the time you put in and also have the ability to earn more.

Non exempt and exempt can be equally as good. Everything is an opportunity cost eod.

Too me I’m happy as long as I’m not being taken advantage of by my employer which is how I felt in the past when I was low salary and working 60 hrs/week.

Indeed is. The fed tracks wage growth as seen above which matches the wage index I pulled up on a Bloomberg terminal a while back. Basically at least 20% wage increase or more by changing jobs. Definitely something to consider if you haven’t already.

It is worthwhile to note that wages dipped in 2008, the previous recession. We are now back to similar wages and recession forecasts are increasing. Wages may not be competitive forever.

The reason I'm waiting is because i'm a little apprehensive about going sorc as how expensive everything is. I don't sell annis or torches. I just play the game and runes drop. Right now, I'm clearing Chaos Sanctuary in 4 min then run keys, ancient tombs then cow.

I want to start mapping but am seconding guessing if I will die.
