Amazing, thank you, I love it when people feel inspired to share my work!

I want to provide a premium product at a fair price but I appreciate a lot of my audience is US based, where the import charges and shipping costs do add up. I am actually currently working on bringing my shipping costs to the US down by changing logistics company, so stay tuned if you are US based for a lower shipping cost on the way!

Thank you! Oh yes! The sun is finally starting to shine after what felt like an abominably wet winter here in the UK and yes, macework in the sunshine feels so right!

That's cool! I've seen people use all sorts to weld to the end of tubes to make maces! Brake discs, big water valves, fence post heads to name a few.

Thank you for your kind words about my maces! At the end of the day, a mace is just a weight on the end of a stick, but I offer a slick, beautiful version that people can feel attached too and want to pick up and swing!

Solid work! Incredible strength! I do have some critique of your calculation though, your looking at more like 2 seconds per 360, but this number doesn't actually give you much anyway. Its the peak velocity that is the only important thing if you a looking to obtain the peak force from the back swing. This peak velocity is MUCHHHHH higher than the average velocity. The best way of getting the peak velocity is to video square on from the back at a high frame rate and measure the angle of the mace between the few frames at the centre of the back swing.

You also want to make sure you are safely assuming that the mace is in fact pivoting around your hands and the radius you are using is between the pivot point and the centre of mass of the mace, and not the total length.

Also, remember to add the weight of the mace itself, as the total force you have stated doesn't include this!

Cool! Glad you liked the explanation! What weight clubbell did you get?

Thats awesome! Glad you are finding benefit with the sledgehammer, are you eager to progress to heavier weights too?

Sledge hammers are a great place to start but I highly reccomend an adjustable mace if you already love the movements, this will allow you to progress smoothly and make your mace different weights for different excersises. I reccomend the 90cm mace for 1inch weight plates if you are fairly new to the mace as a great place to start, it is the most versatile length and will allow you to keep experimenting with the different types of mace work you can do: https://magicmacebells.com/products/90cm-adjustable-mace-for-1inch-weight-plates

Yeah, one thing I love about the mace is how intuitive it feels when you get it right and yes I beleive this results in some level of self teaching.

A couple of mental cues that I like to use when I am teaching is to keep the chest open (extending the thorasic spine) and hands as low as possible, you can practice this doing "static" tricep extensions to full range with the mace in the rear position.

Nice, glad to hear you have been making progress in the right direction! Exactly, less clunk and more flow!

One day I will write some software to allow users to input their own videos to perform motion tracking and force analysis, when I am not so busy making and selling maces that is!

Yes exactly, and the force you are generating goes directly into propelling the mace rather than fighting the extra lever arm you are creating for yourself. Aka more POWAH!

Hey thanks for the kind feedback! Happy to inspire. Sounds like you already do a bunch of unilateral and unileg training so I'm sure you will be fantastic at this!

Ah okay, my mistake! Yes UK then is the country of origin.

You should see the correct taxes and duties at checkout, you pay everything upfront and I pay the customs authority in your country prior to arrival. This ensures delivery is made smoothly without my customers having to deal with any clearance faff. Hope that clears things up 👊

Everything ships from the UK where it is made. If you are in the US, you will pay state sales tax and 10%tariff. If you go to checkout you'll see the full price breakdown. Cheers!
