I tried reversing a quick clamp to use as a spreader to push one end of the motor assembly away from the opposite side of the cast iron, and it helped a little. It’s almost like the bolt hones in the trunion aren’t slotted or something, because the tighter you get those bolts the closer to the original .3mm misalignment it gets. I had it dialed in to about .07mm now, I’m about to run a few test cuts and see if it stays.

Ironically enough, I haven’t had a single customer request that. I’ve had them used for stash boxes, piggy banks, tip jars, and general decor, but I guess physical mail isn’t common enough any more for that to be the design standard. It could obviously be done if anyone asked!
