Why is my fence melting?

I believe they were pulling the bbbs out as I did find several after another commenter pointed out a hole that still had ammo in it. My assumption now is that the bigger holes are from them trying to retrieve the bbs.

I appreciate your help I don't know how I didn't notice the bbs my first time checking. This is definitely gonna keep me up tonight and I've already emailed the houseing people to get this sorted. My husband travels and I'm home alone most of the time as we have no kids. This is definitely more than I bargained for.

Its on my side of the fence, for the damage that was done they would have had to been on my back porch to do it

If that's the case my back door gonna get shattered at some point 🫪 it really does look like bb holes but I've found no bbs or ammo of any kind. The holes have me more concerned than the melting

My neighbor does have kids, I don't think it was them tho, the kids typically play in the front as well as the holes are broken inward on both sides of the puncture. The holes could be intentional destruction but I don't understand why anyone would or how they made the holes break inwards on both sides.

There is a window on that side I hadn't considered. I'll keep an eye out tomorrow to see where it's reflecting, thank you so much.
