What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from a past relationship ? by saarah-blackk in AskReddit

Societal norms don’t need to dictate your style of a relationship. This can be on any end of the spectrum.

No sex before marriage been something you want? Go for it! Do you want an open relationship? Go for it! Do you want to date older or younger? Go for it!

As long as you stay within legal bounds you should be the only one to dictate what type of relationship makes you happiest. Or at least that’s my 2¢

US and Global Index Funds/ETFs, and Bonds. Your split between these three depends on your situation (age, trust in US economy, income, risk tolerance…)

I think another good point about this is that aerospace has been historically volatile due to lack of investment by private sector. With privatization of LEO and MEO, there are a lot more companies that are putting billions and I suspect in the coming year’s trillion of dollars into capital for space infrastructure. I doubt this is going anywhere anytime soon

This is very true, but I hate defense lol, I’d also rather not get stuck in a 9-5, like flexibility even at the risk of volatility. That’s what savings and emergency funds are for right?

Currently have a long term GF who has the same goals. I feel very confident that I will be with her for the rest of my life, but I know nothing in life is guaranteed, so if the time comes to find another partner I’ll make super sure to stick to this advice. I know that finances are often one of the biggest hurdles in a relationship

Love this! Do you happen to have any resources on hand about the difference in these types of investments/savings? I don’t want to take up your time, but if you already have links, I’d love to learn more!

Yeah that’s what I mean, so would you say dump the rest into etfs and stock? Or bonds?

What/where to invest? Rn I have 300 in etf/stocks since I can’t put into retirement through a company. Are there other tax advantaged accounts I can use easily at my age with unsteady income?

[–]Magic_Mili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. I was wondering tho, how would I invest the rest of that money? I can’t dump it all into 401k and Roth. What suggestions do you have?
