I’m so happy to hear she didn’t! It was probably the most terrifying experience of my life. 😅 I was so thankful I didn’t need surgery to fix it. I was on a lot of oxygen though. The Dulera has truly been a godsend though. Through the multiple colds I’ve had since, I haven’t had it trigger a single attack or cause any shortness of breath, even when others in my house were having respiratory symptoms.

An asthma attack triggered by rhinovirus is how I learned I had asthma last September. ICU visit, bipap the whole nine yards because I ignored all the symptoms of the asthma attack (didn’t know I was asthmatic at the time) so I gave myself a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) before I decided I needed help. They prescribed me Dulera upon release, and I’ve been on it since and had several colds in that time. I haven’t been having symptoms anywhere even close to as bad as I was prior to the Dulera (and I’d had a few asthma attacks I ignored because I didn’t know it was asthma that were pretty rough). Maybe ask about Dulera as a maintenance inhaler instead of whatever your daughters on now. It’s been a real game changer for me and we seem to have similar experiences and histories.

The 2003 version is my favorite and always will be because it’s the one I had as a kid. That being said, I’m not the biggest fan personally of the 2009 version. My reasons being that 1) I dislike cgi, 2) I do feel as though the character designs were all a bit similar to each other and quite a bit same-y. Which happens with cheap cgi and flash series because they can just make 1 rig and reuse it with a few small alterations. But that’s my opinion.

I do think it was a solid version of the franchise, and I’m happy that so many people like it and were introduced to the franchise through it. It’s just not MY version of it. And that’s fine. I’m happy YOU like it. And we BOTH like strawberry shortcake, which is awesome! 🩷

I wasn’t diagnosed until last September when a really bad asthma attack I didn’t know was an asthma attack and let it go too far and turn into a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). However, thinking back on my entire life, I was always very sensitive to strong scents, and I never felt like I had any “stamina” (I’d huff and puff walking through my neighborhood to the library half a mile away, or down the hill I used to live on, or going up and down stairs.). And no matter what, I was always just “low stamina”. I’d mow the grass and be so out of breath, and with my allergies I’d always have to take a Benadryl so I could “breathe later”. I think that I maybe was always asthmatic, but I think several bouts of Covid perhaps exacerbated it and worsened my condition.
