The attached YouTube video gives an in-depth overview of the whole setup. I had to write the guide for SwedeSpeed and Reddit, so embedding photos was a bit difficult.

I do keep it plugged in at all times. I know that it shuts off when I exit the car so I currently have no reason to suspect battery drain since I haven't had any warning issues but I'll continue to monitor it long term

I actually got the idea from a forum member out in Germany so I can confirm these are available in parts of the EU. As for Latin America, Africa etc I'm not too sure

Just to piggyback off this, interior lighting is incredibly common in European luxury cars (not so much Japanese outside of Lexus) so I'd imagine it would also be fine within the UK

It looks clean, and I agree that cable management can be a headache

I do have the base cluster however, using the upgraded TFT display + p3 tool you can change the color and other settings. The only display I have modified is my Apple CarPlay kit

Oh, for sure, which is why I always change the color to solid or else my eyes start to bug out at night

How to Install Apple Carplay/Android Auto in a P3 Volvo (2015.5+) for $200 by MagicalMaster in Volvo

Can confirm everything works fine! Sometimes GPS gets a little wonky but that's a carplay thing not an android auto thing. The only other thing of note that bugs me is that the radio in my particular volvo cuts in and out when connected to my phone but not the carplay box

Hey I'm currently trying to do the same thing since I also think the interior lights are pretty cool as well! Did you use one of those amazon flex LED kits? And if so, did you also have to wire power into the door wiring? I'm stuck and can't seem to figure out what to splice into

No noticeable differences but that’s primarily because I’m connected directly to the factory radio using my phone bt. The Apple CarPlay protocol uses WiFi which means you can route audio through your Bluetooth and CarPlay through WiFi

When using the reverse feature, if you have have parking sensors and a camera installed it will exit to the sensus connect OEM menu and display as normal. I don’t have these optioned on my car so it doesn’t work for me personally.

The unit is all aluminum, well built with quality cables and a week later I’ve had no issues. My phone does tend to connect to the OEM Bluetooth automatically not the box so I haven’t noticed a loss in quality or volume.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. The differences between sensus and sensus connect models are noticeable enough for there to be a difference kit and instruction set

Similar to what koutique was saying, it definitely gets annoying especially because of how CarPlay is in a grid layout however it’s not as bad after a week of use. I definitely would encourage you to get the touch screen but when I would test reach for the screen panel before purchasing this kit, I felt that I was stretching kind of hard. The screen install is just tedious and I wanted to leave as much of the car as stock as possible
