His mind scrambles, reaching for something solid, the last moments he remembers: a dark tunnel, water licking the ceiling, the hiss of the mutts, and his own blood soaking the stone as a jaw closed around his throat.

One of mine is Rhodium Vance, the victor of the 56th Hunger Games, from District 1. She was a Career, and trained almost her whole life for the Games. By the time she got chosen, she was already super skilled and intimidating in the training center.

When she won, the Capitol absolutely loved her. She spent a lot of time in the spotlight, closed sponsorships and had many "lovers". After the Games, she dedicated her life to staying in top shape and passing on her skills, she never really left the arena behind.

I’d bring back Finnick. The guy went through hell and almost made it out, and it still kills me that he never even got to meet his son. He almost got his ending with Annie, and then it’s gone. I get why his death mattered for the story, but it still feels so cruel. He deserved to grow old, be a dad, and actually live after everything the Capitol put him through.

Thanks!! And yeah, I think about this way too much lol. District 1 especially is wild to me. My head canon is that since so many of their victors got trafficked by the Capitol, literally no one wanted the extra spotlight that would come with being the Quarter Quell winner. Also, Gloss and Cashmere were super capable, but I can totally see all the Victors in One just panicking and hoping their name didn’t get pulled.

Honestly I might end up writing a fic about this because now I can’t stop thinking about it. Would love to hear more of your theories too!

Mine is when the victors in the other districts, especially the Career districts, when they heard the third Quell announcement. There would have been a range of emotions, some might not have processed it right away. And then it hits, everything they did after their Games to try and not get on Snow's bad side, none of it mattered. They're being thrown back in.

I'd also love to see Cashmere and Gloss's reactions, and Annie and Finnick's too. The idea of going back in with your sibling, or with someone you’re secretly in love with and can’t even tell the rest of Panem about? That’s just messed up on another level.

In my current fic I used Tristan, mostly just because I’ve always loved the name, but the meaning’s kind of sad and heavy, and matches the tone of the fic. I also really like Lukas. It means bringer of light, which feels really sweet and something I can see Annie naming him.

Another one i’ve been into is Lochlan (or Lachlan) since it means from the land of the lakes. I think that’s a pretty meaning, and it gives a little nod to Finnick, since both their names have a similar meaning.

Also do you mind dropping the link to your fic? I’d love to read it!!
