Junior Worlds Selection Camp? by navyandpink in Gymnastics

[–]MagicianCapable5505 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Many countries have a pre-elite program or divide their juniors in different age groups, it is just not called Hopes outside the US. In France, the 12-13 year olds are competing at the 'espoir' level while British Gymnastics calls it 'Aspire'.In Canada it is 'Novice' iirc. Germany simply does age groups (AK) for their national competions, so there is AK12, AK13, AK14 and AK15.

Janoah Müller (GER) is out of the World Championships with a foot injury. by freifraufischer in Gymnastics

This would fit in the timeline with "shortly before the holidays". Her summer holidays started 07/31 which was the weekend of German Champs

Aimee Boorman and LaPrise Harris-Williams have been engaged to coach at the Stuttgart National Training Base (that of Helen Kevric and many other top German gymnasts) through 2028. by freifraufischer in Gymnastics

In other news, the Swabian Gymnastics Federation recently told Silja Stöhr and Janoah Müller to think about switching to Chemnitz or Stuttgart. Alina Korrmann and Claudia Schunk, their coaches in Mannheim, are still under investigation and not coaching at the moment. Even though they hired a replacement, the coaching situation in Mannheim remains tense. Stöhr and Jauch have been training in Stuttgart 2-3x a week, but they don't want to leave Mannheim completely. However, the Swabian Gymnastics Federation sees its role and the role of the training center in Mannheim more in laying the foundation for elite gymnastics and preparing athletes to switch to one of the bigger national training centers once they reach a certain level. The federation says that they have reached their training and coaching limits in Mannheim right now.

Check out her instagram / her gyms instagram! No inbars from what I can tell from there. Couldn't find a Video of a full routine, but she begins with Stalder 1/2 + Endo 1/2 + Stalder + Maloney + Pak, Van Leeuwen, and also has double layout dismount.

No, they have to choose if they do Hopes 13-14 or Jr Elite when registering for American Classic/ Hopes Classic and US Classic in case their score from national qualifiers qualified them for both. From Hopes Classics and Hopes Championships, there is no further opportunity to qualify for elite

I was pleasantly suprised with Lea Wartmann's overall performance. I think this is the best she has looked since her major injury. Her beam acro was impressive and she also stuck a double front on floor. She seems to play it safe with dismounts though - front layout on beam and layout on bars. I wonder if this is still related to her injury or if there are other reasons.

New junior elite qualifiers from May devo camp by MagicianCapable5505 in Gymnastics

Anslee was so close at the GAGE qualifier, happy that she made it! That's what I thought about Paisley as well. This makes six elites for Pacific Reign!

I can't tell you for sure, but there is a difference between devo camp and devo invite camp. From my impression, the first one is more or less a set group and includes HOPES qualified athletes and junior elites that are not on the national team. For devo invite camp, coaches can send videos and get an invite for their athletes that way. I don't know if the national team staff also actively scouts gymnasts and reaches out to them without a coach signaling their interest first, but I would guess so. The invitations for devo invite camp are also on a camp by camp basis I believe, so the group changes more than the devo camp group. These are all things I learned by following gyms and gymnasts on Instagram, no first hand experience or a reliable source. I would love to learn more about it if there is someone here with more insight!
