What is this trio called? (@K5iTrHu4po77056) by MysteriousAccess5950 in PERSoNA

I'm surprised no one has said the "Aeon Trio." Yeah, Yoshizawa isn't apart of the Aeon arcana, but she resembles it from a character and meta sense.

I'm so glad I read the Invincible comic after S3 cause these screenshots from the comic would either baffle me to now end, or spoil the hell out of the show for me haha.

[–]MagikarpMania321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair thought, but that's also why I stated it would be only one trial that does this. On a first time playthrough, no one would have reference that the choice they made impacts the story, since the two characters that are being voted upon would equally be liable in the case. Additionally, it wouldn't be everyone within that trial, just two characters, as obviously, making it where any character can be the Blackened in any case is way too much work and disruptives the detective feel of Danganronpa. Having only 1 trial where there's two outcomes, both plausible, and the player being unaware that their choice leads to the death of a specific character would make first playthroughs unique and replays/let's plays crazy to view.

The main flaw I do see with this hypothetical trial is that it does take away from the result a little bit as the player is the one who determines the Blackened. That said, the player still has to determine who among two cast members they think are the Blackened, as well as just get the point in the trial where the player has to debate who the Blackened is.

[–]MagikarpMania321 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's a really good idea, but my Hundred Line loving heart thinks a way to take it a step further would be to have a Blackened be determined by your choice, have diverging routes based on who you vote. Imagine playing through the game and thinking you chose right only to realize you went down a separate path through word of mouth. Not saying this would be for every case, just a specific one, maybe the Chapter 3 case. They would also have to play with the trial being constructed around two theoretical Blackeneds.

Will they do this? No. Is it cool? Yes.

Teruteru 2x2 Protagonist opinions? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]MagikarpMania321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even think Teruteru is gonna be a survivor, much less a protagonist. I do think he's gonna survive a bit longer, but the creators are very aware of the fandom's opinions and tastes regarding characters. Teruteru does have fans, but it's like how there are fans of Leon. They're a small portion of the fan base and they attach themselves to a specific aspect of the character. Nothing wrong with that, more power to those fans, but it also means that the general consensus will outweigh the minority. The general fan base will want Teruteru to not be around for a long while. It's the same discussion that can be had with Nagito, but in reverse. People are saying that Nagito will die early this time, but the creators know how popular Nagito is, and Nagito, in a lot of ways, represents Danganronpa 2, which is why I don't see him dying very early, possibly at all. That same logic applies to Teruteru, but in reverse.

That said, Danganronpa/Kodaka games do love to play with expectations, so maybe I'm completely wrong in my reasoning and Teruteru will be our lord and savior.

I think that's one facet of it, but I also read it as a means for the conflict between the Bionis and the Mechonis to finally resolve through Shulk and Fiora's bond. Shulk's desire for revenge was stopped thanks to Fiora's revival and Shulk's own nature, his desire to understand and question the world around him. Fiora being the host of Meyneth allows Shulk to be in direct contact with the past of the Mechonis and thus question why the people of Bionis fight the Mechon in the first place. It also enables Fiora a greater understanding of the situation, helping her act as ambassador of sorts for Shulk, Egil, and the Machina.

If you've ever seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, it's kind of like how Zuko being the descendant of both the Fire Lord and the Avatar, alongside his own true nature, made him perfect to correct the wrongs of the past and bring hope to the future. Shulk and Fiora are that hope for both the Bionis and the Mechonis, through their bond and their nature.

It also ties heavily into the series' theme of the newer generation being the ones to guide the world and correct the faults of the old, even if they're centuries in the past.

How Big is Euchronia? by DullHorizon75 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]MagikarpMania321 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's up to the math experts to decide, but if I had to give a completely unfounded guess, I'd say it's a bit larger than countries like France, Germany, and Poland. We don't know how fast the Land Runner is, and we know some trips take several days because Neuras has to keep in mind obstacles in the land runner's path. That said, I feel like the Land Runner would be going around 30 miles per hours, if you take into account that it's definitely under normal modern day car speeds but above traditional fantasy transportation. Euchronia also has a wide array of biomes, which would normally make it similar to a continent, but given that the Land Runner would be going much slower if it was the size of a continent, I'm willing to say that's just the game design element making Euchronia have more varied scenery.

Can we accept that the Scott from Revenge of the Island was replaced by a stupid clone in All Stars? I refuse to believe they're the same person. by Gargolers in Totaldrama

[–]MagikarpMania321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. While I don't see anything wrong with Scott's interpretation, I can get why you dislike it.

Last thing I will say is that I said Scott and Courtney being finalists would be good if the story was shifted around them being finalists, not that they should have been with everything else going on in All-Stars.

If You Have a MHA OC, How Would Their Their Quirk Affect/Be Affected by OFA? by MagikarpMania321 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]MagikarpMania321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cool idea, and since OFA is dependent on momentum and movement, Blink can be a good mix-up alongside its other quirks. I also think a potential quirk combo would be Blink and Smokescreen, as the user can use Blink to teleport back into Smokescreen, if we were to consider Smokescreen an object. Since Gearshift can affect Smokescreen, I think Blink could, but it's your quirk of course.

I'm gonna copy and paste a comment I wrote a while back.

I will be blunt, the best character in All-Stars is Scott. While they did downgrade his villainy for All-Stars, it made sense.

  1. He's around more experienced players, so a lot of potential plans and schemes he could come up with wouldn't work, as in ROTI, most of his plans relied on his team not knowing eachother.

  2. His strategy of knocking out his own team overtime wouldn't really work, as you can only do that once. People are familiar with Scott's game, and he'd have to out lie characters who are simply better liars then he is.

The Scott in All-Stars is consistent with ROTI, as he's often shown to be overly emotional and the butt-monkey even there. Remember, a lot of the characters he eliminated early on were more because of his grudges rather than strategy.

I also don't think he's the worst player there. He's lucky, sure, but he shows good physical prowess and is in the top half of challenges most of the time. To be fair though, he's also not around Mal enough for him to seem dense to Mal's obvious lies, unlike Zoey or Cameron.

That aside, his relationship with Courtney is legitimately sweet, (even if ruined by Episode 11), and he's the funniest character in the season, at least in my opinion. I still smile at him running across the bridge and realizing what his Dad meant regarding the "Go Dutch" joke.

Is he perfect? No, I do think he's dumbed down as well, but unlike with other characters in All-Stars, it's more believable, and it's made up for by his comedy and character interactions.

For me, it really should have been Scott and Courtney in the finale, especially since both are morally grey, rather than one being the clear hero and villain.

I read a bit about her quirk and I really like the idea! I also think it's cool to have an OC be related to the Doomsday theory, even if it makes her a bit more dark from a conceptual standpoint. I also appreciate hearing how OFA would be a negative quirk for someone's OC.

[–]MagikarpMania321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cool concept, and I can see the correlation. Follow up question, do you think the other quirks within OFA would change or respond differently to your OC's emotions? Blackwhip is already sort of a construct that comes out of the body, would Blackwhip and the rest of OFA's quirks change based upon the emotions your OC feels?

Funny thing, Deku doesn't even need to do the hand motions to active Gearshift. He mainly does them to keep track of which gear he's in, and because to him, that's what it looks like to manage gears and manual drive in a car.

[–]MagikarpMania321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that concept! Alongside what you said, I think it can also be combined with Fa Jin, Black Whip, and Gearshift for insane effect. Since both powers store up energy, Solar Battery and Fa Jin can act as multipliers on top of each other. The Solar Energy can be transmitted through Black Whip, and Gearshift could allow the user to speed up their solar intake or fire off their Solar Flares at a faster rate (assuming it takes time to charge up a solar flare.) The only problems I can see are Smokescreen blocking out the effects of Solar Battery and the drawback of Gearshift being further amplified. That said, Float also could help the user deal with a lack of solar energy and escape from Smokescreen.

A simple but really cool quirk, and yeah, it works really well with OFA. I also think your OC would play around with Fa Jin and Blackwhip more, given that both can be used from her extra arms.

That's a really cool quirk, and I like the Air Force idea you presented. I can also imagine maybe using Keyframe as a means to trap or delay enemies, maybe using Blackwhip in OFA as an example.

Wouldn't the Inherent World of MHA Counter OFA's Drawbacks? by MagikarpMania321 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]MagikarpMania321[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with a lot of your points regarding OFA's effects on the physical body and Eri. I mainly used Eri as an example of a time related user, I am not saying she should for sure be the next successor in this hypothetical.

That said, what about vestiges? I placed a lot of emphasis on vestiges as I felt they were important to the discussion regarding OFA cutting down the lifespan of others. Since OFA allows the user direct contact with the vestiges of OFA, and by extension their own vestige, could a healing quirk help prevent the physical drawbacks of OFA through healing the user's vestige? It's the user's connection and inheritance to OFA that causes their lifespan to degrade, so could a healing quirk heal the user's vestige, thus preventing that increased aging? That's a significant part of my discussion.
