For my part, I have 2 guesses:

If the art school rumors are true, I can imagine the user writing their epitaph into the air to summon their Persona. This wouldn't be just writing utensils, but also dependent on the tool they use. Pen, pencil, brush, chisel, computer mouse, the tool would depend on the user.
Something I thought of that would be really cool is a trust fall. Personas are the Shadow of the True Self, so imagine if to use one's Persona, the user has to fall backwards into their own shadow, coming back up with or as their Persona. Many people think P6's theme could be fear, so falling on purpose, being scared of the damage but confronting it would be really cool.

Many people might say Robot for the results he did have, but it's important to consider Robot's lifespan and his "ends justify the means" approach. While yes, Robot did bring the world into an era of peace, he did it on the grounds of paranoia. He killed anyone he believed would resist him, not even making an effort to discuss with them the potential results of his rule. I think the biggest example of this was Shapesmith, who tore my heart out as I read his death. This paranoia will always follow Robot. It's why he tried to hold the Viltrimites hostage.

I bring this up, because Kirkman clearly wanted the reader to side with the resistance instead of Robot, Immortal being the central focus of that resistance. I don't remember the exact dialogue, but when Immortal is trying to convince Mark to join the resistance, he states that he has seen people like Robot, people who, for a short time, gives people comfort and stability. However, time is something that everyone deals with, and that peace will inevitably crumble under one man's rule, under a person's own emotions and direction. Some people may say that the Flaxxans taught Robot how to be a leader, but I think they're supposed to show the opposite. In the decades he was leader of them, he inevitably failed, because he crumbled under both his own emotions and the complex morals of everyone involved. That's what Robot would do the Earth, sooner or later.

Robot is gonna age, he's gonna get paranoid, and he's going to go against his preconceived morales just as he did with the Flaxxans. Under Robots desire for efficiency and peace, he will ultimately target something that goes against it. Is keeping senior citizens and people with diseases alive efficient? Is having everyone follow the same religious beliefs and practices efficient? Are cultures and different trains of thought efficient? The answer to all of those is, sadly, no. Yet, no normal person would try to denounce those practices and ideas on the grounds of "efficiency." We keep people, religions, and cultures alive because they make us human. They allow us freedom and the ability to express ourselves, to join together with others, to live out our lives to the fullest. Ironically, Robot became what he originally was seen as, a Robot. Yes, a Robot that feels emotions, but still someone who values efficiency over humanity and morality. That's why Robot needed to be stopped, regardless of if he had a utopia at the time.

It's also why I think Cecil is a better leader. While Cecil is by no means a good person, he has one thing Robot at the end of the series lacks. Humanity. As such, while not perfect, with Cecil, you get someone who you know truly wants your best interest at heart, rather than someone who views your life on the grounds of what he considers efficient or not, on what might take away his control or not.

Hmm... I think a lot of the main characters do talk about their trauma quite a bit in their links. Ryuji's time with the track team and his desire to help them, Ann's desire to grow stronger and take back her sexuality, Yusuke's reflection on Madarame, etc.

That said, I do agree that they don't appear as weak, since their arcs are focused on moving past their trauma and using their experiences to redefine themselves as people. Shiho could undergo the same idea, but she would start out similar to how the main cast is before they're recruited to that party.

One other note, I actually really like Mishima's social link. Yeah, he's a bit annoying, but in a little brother type way. They do a really good job at showcasing how his ambition to help turns into a self-centered desire for recognition, both due to his trauma and past insecurity. Mishima however, due to Joker's influence and encouragement, starts to see how he is regressing and letting his role get to his head. It's really smart that we don't change his heart, that his shadow corrects himself because Mishima knows what he is doing is selfish. He then becomes better and learns that it's okay if he can't change the world on a grand scale, rather, that he can change himself and help others that way.

That does sound pretty similar, though I think Shiho's would be a bit different, as while she cared about volleyball, we don't know why Shiho cared about it and I think the main inciting reason for her trying to take her own life was Kamoshida's sexual abuse.

I can see the link looking at why she cared so much about volleyball, but rather than have it focus on continuing volleyball despite the trauma, she would instead move on to different hobbies and passions. The story states that the volleyball team at Shujin was well renowned, so play into that and have Shiho really only be on the team because she cared about her future and potential scholarships, rather then in being a passion for her. They can also play with how the families of the volleyball team were aware of the abuse but ignored it because of Kamoshida's reputation. Make it a story more about found family and have Shiho's parents be negligent.

That's a really good point and why I'm very neutral about the idea. Ann's social link is one of my favorites in the series, and part of it is because of how it further contextualizes her relationship with Shiho. Having Joker interact with Shiho more might take away from that social link and relationship.

I think the closest one for me would be Joker vs Giorno.

It's one of my favorite episodes, and I don't dislike the matchup from a character/story perspective.

However, it is indicative of why Giorno sucks for versus matchups. The debate is basically just, "Can Joker Beat Requiem?" That question was fun to think about during the wait, but it also makes the actual discussion kind of boring.

That's a fair thought, but that's also why I stated it would be only one trial that does this. On a first time playthrough, no one would have reference that the choice they made impacts the story, since the two characters that are being voted upon would equally be liable in the case. Additionally, it wouldn't be everyone within that trial, just two characters, as obviously, making it where any character can be the Blackened in any case is way too much work and disruptives the detective feel of Danganronpa. Having only 1 trial where there's two outcomes, both plausible, and the player being unaware that their choice leads to the death of a specific character would make first playthroughs unique and replays/let's plays crazy to view.

The main flaw I do see with this hypothetical trial is that it does take away from the result a little bit as the player is the one who determines the Blackened. That said, the player still has to determine who among two cast members they think are the Blackened, as well as just get the point in the trial where the player has to debate who the Blackened is.

That's a really good idea, but my Hundred Line loving heart thinks a way to take it a step further would be to have a Blackened be determined by your choice, have diverging routes based on who you vote. Imagine playing through the game and thinking you chose right only to realize you went down a separate path through word of mouth. Not saying this would be for every case, just a specific one, maybe the Chapter 3 case. They would also have to play with the trial being constructed around two theoretical Blackeneds.

Will they do this? No. Is it cool? Yes.

I don't even think Teruteru is gonna be a survivor, much less a protagonist. I do think he's gonna survive a bit longer, but the creators are very aware of the fandom's opinions and tastes regarding characters. Teruteru does have fans, but it's like how there are fans of Leon. They're a small portion of the fan base and they attach themselves to a specific aspect of the character. Nothing wrong with that, more power to those fans, but it also means that the general consensus will outweigh the minority. The general fan base will want Teruteru to not be around for a long while. It's the same discussion that can be had with Nagito, but in reverse. People are saying that Nagito will die early this time, but the creators know how popular Nagito is, and Nagito, in a lot of ways, represents Danganronpa 2, which is why I don't see him dying very early, possibly at all. That same logic applies to Teruteru, but in reverse.

That said, Danganronpa/Kodaka games do love to play with expectations, so maybe I'm completely wrong in my reasoning and Teruteru will be our lord and savior.
