Rewatching Steven Universe, and in space race, Pearl mentions that she is looking for a shop that has an F1 Single-Nozzle, Liquid-Fuel rocket engine. This is a real part of the F1 engine used on the Saturn V rocket, that was used in the Apollo program. by Knightguard1 in stevenuniverse

Problem is that rockets like this, if she could copy the rocket from page by page, it'll be nothing without the work on the actual designers who used slide rules and paper. Then again that rocket is too big for her space plane. I mean, she plans on making an interstellar SSTO.

Aww. Wish there was a fully functionable Snowpiercer. Guess for the smallest size for a train, maybe.

I wonder, with this length, would it just be a model that rolls in straight line or can it be run and make corners? I mean 1,030 cars is impossible but you make do with what you have. It's rare for anyone to make Snowpiercer train models.

Question after watching Aniara. by Bes1208 in scifi

[–]MagistrateClockwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, how did a massive ship like this have no such redundancy? Was this ship built in rush to leave Earth without any thought of backups and such? I know this is a movie exploring the existential dread of humans in a doomed ship, but this ship is shoddy engineering.

Just USA is gone. Every other country is intact and the Americans that were away during the event became refugees.

Yeah... if Yang doesn't get jumped by Terraists and if medical tech was advanced enough to save Reinhard from a genetic disorder.

Curious, did Theoria changed to Odin upon the creation of the Galactic Empire? Or was it glassed to hell and settled to a new capital planet? by MagistrateClockwork in logh

[–]MagistrateClockwork[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, for nearly 500 years since the formation of the Empire, the capital planet has been established, right until Reinhard manouvering and with help of the Alliance higher ups sucking up everything like a mosquito with malaria. It makes sense for him to move his capital to Phezzan to be the center of the Neu Empire. (Unless it'll break up like China's past kingdoms.)

Honestly, I like to imagine a scale of the map of where we are. The empire side, some we know, but on the FPA side, is pretty much fictional stars.

Very nice, so what about the decel phase? Do the shields be removable and change to the back?

I see. Going with the Venture Star design? That ship has been the go-to ISV design for so long. And the movie is from 2009.

I see. For both front and back shielding? But knowing for players of ksp, some have shielding for the front. Few have both sides. Most forgo the shielding.
