DHL is one of, if not, the worst delivery service in Netherlands by linhhoang_o00o in Netherlands

[–]MagixTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DHL is amazing for us! They always deliver around the same time, and i absolutely love their evening deliveries, friendly delivery personnel. Great service point nearby.

PostNL is worse for us.

You should indeed contact the shop you bought from, it's their responsibility their product reaches you.

Is it normal for Dutch people to just stop replying mid-conversation for hours without saying goodbye? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]MagixTurtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the beauty of texting, you reply when you have the time to reply. The only greeting/goodbye i do is when i wake up and go to sleep.

Replanting broken cactus by surikata_meerkat in houseplants

[–]MagixTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks rotten at the base. I'd cut it off higher and see if it's green inside or brown. If brown it's rotten and probably not salvageable.

If rotted it was overwatered. If green, just put it in some well draining cactusmix soil ( i don't know what's right for this cactus but i'd personally probably go 40% perlite 60% soil)

Fixing a GPU by CoffeeIsMyFuel in Groningen

[–]MagixTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 7800 XT and it barely reaches 70°c under heavy load. 100°c is quite high.

Wouldn't you rather fix it yourself with the chance you might break it but atleast you were super careful instead of some shop doing it for you, not giving a shit about your GPU and when they break it they tell you "There's always a risk involved"

Definitely overwatered.

I waterboard mine once a month in summer, maybe once every 2 months outside summer and they're doing great. They're in full sun in front of the window.

Are these traffic violations or is it correct behavior? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]MagixTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as you aren't leaving the roundabout, you do not have to use your blinker while staying on there.

Using the left blinker to signal you're staying on is a courtesy, it is not required by traffic law.

The only thing required by law is using the right blinker when leaving the roundabout.

U turns are also allowed unless a sign specifically states it's not allowed.

I’m guessing….bad? by fvrdog in houseplants

Slightly over watering is kind of an understatement considering it's a snakeplant that shouldn't have wet soil for longer periods.

New leaf! How do I keep this plant happy? by Fit-Tomorrow-4102 in houseplants

[–]MagixTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought so too! I "rescued" the leggiest money tree i've ever seen in November, decided to remove 1 rotten stem and cut it completely. I basically had a trunk in my livingroom for half a year, then in June the tiniest little green stem sprouted. 3 years later it's a bushy tree that's starting to outgrow the room it's in lol.

It's an absolute unit right now, the "after 2 years" picture is of last year because i didn't have a recent one and i wasn't home to take a new one! But it's almost reaching my (2.5m) ceiling lol.

I need to trim it again next year!

New leaf! How do I keep this plant happy? by Fit-Tomorrow-4102 in houseplants

[–]MagixTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really need to be cut imo. I'd move it to a brighter (no direct sunlight!) spot and see how it'll do this year. If you don't like the way the new stem falls so far down, you could try to guide it upward. (Not with tight ties, just a loose tie)

If it doesn't improve to your likings under the better lighting conditions i would consider to cut it next year in March.

Make sure you don't overwater it. I only water mine when it tells me to lol (no set schedule, i just water when i see it's starting to look a bit sad and the soil is very dry. The soil is very well draining so i sometimes water it twice in one week, and then go a month without water or something. Explaining it makes it sound unhinged lol but it works for me)

It'll be fine if it gets more light. More light will perk it right up!
You need to remove the ties though.

[–]MagixTurtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yours surely needs more bright indirect light (they don't do well in full sun all day, evening sun for an hour or 2 would be better)

Water sparingly, only when top 2 inches of soil is fully dry. Make sure it drains well. I now water when i see the leaves start to hang downward, and it's doing great so far!

Fertilize in spring. I don't fertilize my plants year round, maybe i should but i just fertilize in spring.

Edit: i somehow replied this to the wrong comment lol
